Very dark and graphic content. Check the TWs. I liked the evolution of the fmc and how she got her revenge and happiness. Would of loved more content on the cirque performances though, that would of been fun.

It had a strong beginning, nice set up in her childhood, but then when it got to her adult Hood it just jumped right into crazy badness that was like so extreme and terrible it just felt really rushed and not really believable and then it was interesting when she contacted the circus again but then it became weird and really rushed and in dark which is fine but it just didn't envelop me into the story the way that I really wanted to be

3⭐️⭐️⭐️ & 4 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Once again dark romance making me question everything about myself. The rational reader in me had MANY issues with this book.
It’s poorly written, with mistakes. It’s basic in plot and the characters lack any depth. It’s an insta-lust and microwaved Reverse Harem ramen. 🍜
It has things happen in it that someone with Embers trauma would never be able to tolerate ever again. There are massive triggers in this, and honestly the abuse at the start was hard to read.
I did love the spice, it was dark and deprived and chock full of gore and trigger warnings. Perfect for a dark girly like me at the beginning of spooky season.
I did enjoy it though, I liked the intrigue of the cirque and its magic. I liked the revenge arc and the female rage. I liked the characters enough and I loved freedom the tiger. I’m a sucker for those animal sidekicks. 🐅
If you’ve ever questioned if you have circus based kinks then this may unlock all sorts of… feelings for you. And it allows you to explore this in a safe way and without having to have the fitness to climb silks and circus tents. So for that it gets 3 stars from me.

This was another beautiful book I got at RARE and I was so excited to read another book by KA Knight after how in love I was with Den of Vipers!

After visiting a circus as a child, she was handed a joker card and told that it would save her later in life. 15 year later, Ember is trapped in an abusive relationship and when she’s nearly on deaths door, she holds that same Joker card and her 4 masked saviours come!

I’m utterly in love with the plot to this book! The overall vengeance story was incredible and so thought out. I was always waiting for the next twist and when it came I fell in love even more. Usually I find books that are mega spicy sometimes have minimal depth in the plot but this was definitely not the case with this one!

I love how each MMC was a suit, Heart, the tightrope walker (I dont know what the word is), Spade the animal tamer with his pet Tiger called Freedom, Clubs being a sword swallower & Diamond, the ring leader. Each of the sold their soul to the Cirque, in exchange they protect those who need it and kill those that deserve it. Ember did the exact same, she sold her soul and became Queen.

Ahhh the SPICE was SPICY! 🥵 the twist of the carnival games in with the smut scenes were insane! Absolutely loved it!

My favourite if I had to pick for the MMCs was Heart and his bucket of popcorn 🍿. He definitely gave me Diesel vibes but a deliciously submissive version and I was there for it🔥 I love my psychotic men!!
