These are getting hard to rateโ€ฆ they are all so good! I fear Iโ€™ll have to go back and rerate them once Iโ€™m done them all and have time to process .๐Ÿ˜… At first jeremy was a bit too brutal for me, but by the end this man could have me eating out of the palm of his hand. Really loved Cecilyโ€™s journey dealing with her trauma, and even though I thought she was boring in the first two books, I really enjoyed her character here. One book closer to God of Fury!

I enjoyed this souch more than God of Ruin. Jeremy was a much better MMC than Landon was, and I started liking him much sooner in the book, so I had more time to get used to him. Even though he was possessive, it always ended up being for the sake of protecting Cecily. from others and from herself. There was a lot of yearning and angst also. I only have two books left in this series before I am finished.

Another book in this series that I ate up. Please check your trigger warnings โš ๏ธ before starting any book in this series.
I loved the main characters in this book. Cecily is such a nurturing and selfless person always looking out for her friends and trying to help others. She has a tragic past and I felt so sad for her... no-one should have to go through what she did.
Jeremy on the other hand is overprotective and even suffocating at times just because he's afraid that the people he cares about will get hurt. I absolutely adore him ๐Ÿ’–
Their story was so sweet in a way (don't get me wrong it was intense and toxic at times) because they listened to each other and helped each other get over some things, they grew together as people!
I always love the parent POV's and I was actually laughing with Xander's POV so much. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I see the vision. I appreciate the vision. I didn't ~absolutely love~ this for a few reasons but we can get to those in a second.

I loved our MMC, Jeremy. I love that he's a creep, I love that he's a bit of a stalker and that he picks up books from her room and learns about what she likes to read. It was just so fun for me. I liked that he's a complete asshole and he was really rough around the edges and entirely too brash and harsh, BUT that made his apologies and groveling all the more satisfying to read. I did appreciate the quirkiness of our FMC - she's not like other girls but it's also not constantly shoved down our throats so I appreciated that.

I didn't like that we missed out on A LOT of sweet moments that were only mentioned on page but weren't detailed. For instance, it was a huge deal for him to hop in the shower with her and then we only get mention of that happening in passing and that's all. Like damn, Ms. Kent I know we're thirsty for the naughty bits but you can give us sweet crumbs too girl. She breezes through these really sweet, intimate moments and it left me feeling unbalanced in it all. I like the spice but we could've kept fed with some evenly spread sweet moments too.

It was repetitive in that a lot of the same things were said on both ends over and over again. Our FMC is a bit whiny and I was losing my patience with her toward the end, I was really hoping that she'd be a bit stronger and more of a baddie but she was just too insecure and was verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry dramatic about her way of phrasing things ~

"you nearly killed me in that alley."
"I would never do that..."
"You already did Jeremy! Maybe not physically, but you pierced my heart open with your rejection...."

pLEASE CECILY. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. SIT DOWN.

Also everyone wants to rape her and that bothered me a lot.

Overall it was an entertaining read, I liked it for what it was, I loved the MMC, the writing was good although repetitive in some areas, the FMC could've been written a lot better in a more likable way, but it was memorable and the Russian Roulette scene + Jeremy being a freak bumped this up for me, otherwise it's really a solid 3 read.
