Super creepy and over the top. Mae is the worst. End of story... lol.

definitely one to read for the concept above anything else. loved that it was somewhere between “normal” society and dystopia, showing the transitional phase between the two. however, the characters were all mostly archetypal, the plot was largely predictable, and there were random bouts of fluff. while i can say that i didn’t expect the twist, i didn’t expect it because it makes absolutely no sense. but again, the concept is great and absolutely fits very well into our modern discourse surrounding technology and social media’s affect on privacy and democracy.

This book made me want to throw my devices away and leave my corporate job forever.

I think this is a very thought provoking book. The premise is intriguing. The main theme is internet, privacy and where to draw the line at what should be private and what should be shared. The book is about Mae who gets a job at the Circle, an internet company. Mae is kind and a bit naïeve. I like her character but at times I think she needs to learn to stand up for herself and feel less insecure. Through Mae we learn more about the Circle and what they stand for. Some parts are good, but some are just creepy. Will the Circle keep growing and growing and become more powerful or will it be stopped before it is too late?

Too heavy handed for me
This book was not subtle at all. It felt like being clubbed over the head with the statement that technology is dangerous. I also found the characters and their backgrounds a bit flat. Not a BAD read per se, but I don’t think I’d recommend it to any friends.

Oh my goodness! I just don't know what to say, and I'm too afraid to give things away. Defiantly would encourage a read of this book.
