This is an intriguing science fiction novel that despite it being seemingly ordinary, discusses the human condition and if the belligerent way of conquering new worlds really is the best way to do it. Can one act of kindness truly change how different lifeforms interact and cohabit on the same planet?

Interesting book, but this is a rare case of the movie being better than the book. If I hadn’t seen the movie yet, it would be 4 stars, but the movie set the bar really high.

Fun sci Fi romp into a future where humans are colonizing other planets (with varying degrees of success) often with the help of human Expendables because they're cheaper to regenerate than drones or other machinery. Some interesting science and philosophy thrown in with the characters and plot but it doesn't all totally mesh for me, maybe because the timeline jumps around quite a bit.
