A friend suggested this and I really didn’t know what to expect but I loved it! Kept me entertained the whole time and didn’t see the ending coming. I cannot believe it was her brother and her coach the whole time!! 4.5/5

3.5 stars. I loved learning about the culture and the history of the Native American culture. I was hesitant about the plot mostly because I felt the main characters weren’t that great. I liked a lot of the supporting characters a lot more and that was probably because they added to the cultural aspect of the story. I felt Daunis was great at explaining everything to Jamie (really us as readers) but was hellbent on being “I’m not like other girls around here”. For example, she was dumbfounded when anyone knew anything scientific. She also was very judgmental about the girlfriends of the hockey players even after they showed her kindness and welcomed her (even though she was a “fake” girlfriend despite not being “fake”) she still referred to them as anglerfish. Also I don’t know if I blinked and missed it but what was Daunis’ spiritual name and what was Jamie’s real name?
