Not a bad read, but didn't deserve all the accolades it got. It was very "My way or the highway" without any empathy, which I didn't like. And it also suspended my disbelief too much.

Good piece of feminist literature. Storyline is female centric and not entirely centered around her love interest, although it does include a romantic partner. It instead focuses on her life and her work and her impact. This book paints an authentic picture of navigating in the world as a woman, and does not sugar coat some of the struggles of the female experience. Shown through the main character but also her connections.
The book is empowering and motivating, and of course, enraging and frustrating.
Incredibly relatable.
Loved it.

God, women deserve to be so much angrier.

Watched the miniseries first, so was upset to realize we didn't get as many (or any) POC characters, but was happy to see this version of Harriet's journey through agency.

idk how I feel about Elizabeth going back to Hastings at the end, but at least she's still doing what she loves without that hoe Donatti

Shoutout to Fran for being a snooping queen that refused to rest. Loved her growth.

As a fellow victim of "her height is making the boys feel bad", I sympathize with Mad.
