At times silly. At times  delightful. Maybe a little straightforward and simplistic at times. I didn't realize it was book 2 of a series. Enjoyable enough I'll read book 1. The author's acknowledgement indicates she was going for a bubbly Wodehousian romp. If you've read any PG Wodehouse, I'd say she succeeded though this was slightly less manic, for the better, than Wodehouse plots tended to be.

Fell completely flat for me in every component. The "mystery" that supposedly made up the plot was completely inneffective and without any sense of urgency. And you know it's pretty bad when the side-characters have more chemistry with each other in their limited interactions than the main couple does in neary 400 pages. Sapphic romance deserves better than this. Bleh.
