I am always a bit reluctant to go deep into translated works unless i am familiar with the translator. More often than not, the translated work doesn’t capture the soul of the original writing.

That brings us to Knots. Maybe it reads a different way in the original form, but when translated into English, it feels a bit empty.

I like the ideas, the surrealism and how all the short stories are easy reads. Most of the stories are completely unsuspecting and surreal. Fun reads and good twists, but somehow it doesn’t speak to me and i did not feel as engaged as i was hoping i would be after seeing the overwhelming rating here on goodreads.

Her style of writing is purposely trite to drive the message home, but somehow it leaves me with a reader lethargy.

Good collection of very short and concise stories. Some of the themes are repetitive and none of them are intended for anything else other than a mature audience. Still, every story manages to be thought-provoking. The humor tends to be dark and if you are very sensitive to the bad parts of some intimate human relationships (meaningless sex, infidelity, jealousy), you will probably either not like this book or be slightly depressed by it.

Erotic and anxious Norwegian short fiction? Hehe yeah I'll take it and if it's only an audiobook Jan that thing through my ears in like 3 days, not liking many portions but mostly learning something through the work.

Stories ranging from short to very short. Nothing bad here, but also nothing memorable.

This was ok. Some of the stories were a one-page laugh and others were way strange but still entertaining.
