Firstly I need to say, I absolutely loved this book! Lifelike got me out of an 8 month reading slump. I couldn't put it down and when I did, I wanted to talk about, so my boyfriend probably knows the whole plot now!
It is a wonderful fast paced post apocalyptic California, with robots and people with powers. Usually I get super lost in face paced books, especially where action is involved, but the way Jay writes, I was never lost.
The characters were so loveable and their arcs throughout the first book are really notable! We see a lot of characters change, either for the worse or better, (you'll have to read it to find out) Cricket was definitely my favourite character by the end, even my boyfriend was asking how he was doing!
There are many lessons to be learnt from Lifelike, from unhealthy relationships to unrequited love, in whatever forms that may be.
Basically you need to read this book (and hopefully the series) and tell me when you do! I need to talk about it!
READ LIFELIKE PLEASE!!!!

In the beginning I wasn’t really feeling it. The main character was a but strange. However, I loved the side characters & the writing style. Which was what kept me going. This became a bit weirder. BUT THEN THERE WAS THE FING PLOTTWIST AND MY GOD????
When you talk about unexpected twists & cliff hangers. JAY KRISTOFF WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME 😭
No seriously, it was good. Wasn’t really feeling the romance. It made sense for the book, but I’m never in to romance so yeah.
So uhm, I’m kinda shook? Like. I need a sequel? But it won’t be here for a while?? 😭

4.5. It took me awhile but man once I finished it I can’t wait for more!
[4.58 stars] ploooooot twist.
this was fugging good.
I liked all these thoughts on identity and its importance. “Was this the Ana in her talking? Or the Eve?
They’re the exact same person, she realised.
They’re you.”
But it all sorta unraveled a the end (in terms of identity). But the plot itself never gave up. It wasn’t ever boring or dull. yesssss
