I just loveeee a second chance romance. Love and other words by Christina Lauren is honestly the book I hold all other summer cottage style romances up to and let me say, this one did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the realness and authenticity of the characters challenges and the age appropriate conflicts. Would absolutely recommend.

I liked the vibes of this book a lot. It felt similar to Carley Fortune’s Every Summer After with summers by the lake, falling for the boy next door, friends-to lovers and second chance romance.
I liked that our characters were diverse with different cultural backgrounds and the LGBTQ+ community representation.
I wish I had known about some of the content ahead of time to better prepare myself but that’s my own fault for going into the book blind. Just know there may be some trigger warnings for some readers.

I started off really liking the characters, their dynamic and their stories. But I felt the book didn't quite stick the landing, and I found myself a bit disappointed in the way the events were paced and resolved.
