A very moving book about women in war that leaves me mourning.

That is it for now.

I finished the book at night. Throughout the story I thought that
SpoilerIsabelle would make it because of the older women in the present tense
, but BAM(really didn't expect that coming). Really, really nice written. I'm getting more into historical fiction.

An inspirational story about two women who are brave and resilient in their own ways during WWII. However, having read a lot of popular WWII fiction novels, I don't think this one quite beats those I have already read. Early chapters from Vianne's early chapters were especially hard for me to get through, but I guess its in the name of character development.

I'm at a 4.5 star on this one, only because I had a hard time jumping into the story from the start (audio book).

It took some pushing through to finally get the the hook.

Overall a wonderful and thought provoking story of two French sisters serving WW2, with the tools that they had and the grit of their teeth.

Another highly recommended book from KH.
