The story is done well and a good adaptation but the illustrations don’t do the story justice, it just wasn’t an art style I enjoyed.

I've had this book a while. Enjoying a stage production of Pride and Prejudice prompted me to pick it up. When I was about halfway through I watched a television adaptation of Northanger Abbey from the 80s. The differences between these 2 adaptations may very well inspire me to read the original.

The preoccupation of the characters with respect to money, when all have servants. It's definitely of a different time. The resulting confusion made for an amusing plot.

Catherine's love of her novels and the way her imagination runs away with itself is the high point of the story.

The publication history mentioned in a note at the start is worthy of modern #BookThreads drama.

A good, short read. I read it during study breaks. I actually really enjoyed the illustration style and the dialogue. I really like this graphic novel version and the 2007 ITV movie. I find Catherine to be a very relatable character, as I read a lot of novels and I find myself daydreaming of them often. I really need to read the original Jane Austen book when I have the time. Pride and Prejudice is definitely one of my favorite books of all-time and it's one of my life goals to read all the Austen novels.

I didn’t enjoy this anywhere near as much as the graphic novel adaptation of sense & sensibility but it was still good. I didn’t like the style of illustration anywhere as much, and it was super off-putting that the cover illustration style was so *completely* different from what was inside the book.

I have now read all of the Jane Austen marvel comics. I enjoyed this one the most, apart from possibly Emma. Great illustrations and it sticks closely to the original text...

Trite artwork & an eye rolling narrative. I didn’t think the author captured the subtle undertones of this classic at all in this retelling.

Delightful, I think my bookclub ladies would have preferred this to the actual novel since only one could finish it.

Made for Austen fans.

A lovely graphic novel version of Jane Austen's gothic tale, Northanger Abbey. The cartoon-like illustrations add a touch of whimsy to the story, illuminating the sometimes painfully innocent ignorance of the heroine. The words sticks to the original language of the book.

I am *slightly* disappointed that the story illustrations mismatch the cover illustrations, however, after 2+ decades of devoted comic book reading, it doesn't surprise me.
