OK hear me out...
I'm still obsessed with this series, and I still love Gibsie...
HOWEVER...I expected more from his story. I found that nothing really happened until about 50% into this book. Books 1-4 I devoured, literally couldn't put them down. They evoked so many emotions. But this one definitely didn't give me those vibes. The plot wasn't as rich as the first 4 books. Things really picked up the last 100 pages, and that's what I felt the first 4 books gave me from the first pages. I'm not a huge fan of Claire, I really hate to say that she annoyed me. Other than her friendship with Gerard, there's not much going on there. Gibsie though - my sweet, caring, and hilarious guy. Love him! When we did finally get to the truth, he was real and raw. I'm always invested in his friendship with Johnny too, it's adorable. Taming 7 really set the stage for Releasing 10, and I have a feeling I won't be able to put that one down!

i genuinely dont know how to feel. i just know my sunshine couple deserved better :(
and where the FUCK did all the chemistry between them go?? this felt more like an introduction to lizhughie than clairegibsie's book...
i loved them ever since binding 13 and they were my most anticipated couple. this book was a huge disappointment because i know it could've been good.
oh and FUCK MARK

definitely my least fav of the series. I was excited to read about Claire and Gibsje but their relationship didn’t feel fully fleshed out when I finished the book. it just drastically changed once the plot twist was revealed and I’m not sure how I felt about that.

also cannot stand lizzie and I’m not sure what I will learn in the next book that will redeem herself for me. other than that, still a super enjoyable read and loved reading about the other crew!

ugh i just love this series so much. chloe i need the next book to be released right now. also if we don’t get a second gibsie & claire book i will die

Chloe Walsh does it again! She captured my heart and my attention with another book I. Her great Boys of Tommen series!

I have been looking forward to Gibsie’s perspective for a while and Chloe did a great job balancing the humor with the darkness he works so hard to conceal. Claire was a beautiful counterpart, although I do wish she wanted more for herself generally.

My only complaint is that I think the writing style in this book was a little more tell not show. I was surprised by this, because I didn’t feel like way about the first 4 books. Perhaps this was because the author was trying to cram their whole story into one book instead of spreading it out over 2. The end result is that it felt rushed and a little too obvious. But, the finale still won me over so 4.75 stars it is!

This series is literally starting to live rent-free in my head! Getting Gibsie’s and Claire’s POVs was great! I love Gibsie so much and learning more about him and his story broke me to my core. I feel so bad and sad about what happened in his past. I also feel like this helped in understanding his character more. I do like Claire but I feel like at times she was not my favorite. I feel like she redeemed herself by the end but a couple of her decisions were questionable. I do really love their relationship and how it has grown. With all the revelations in this book, I am now so nervous to read the next book but I also can’t wait!
