Most of the stories were pretty entertaining. A fresh way to look at old stories. Or a fucked up way to look at stories in general. I liked it.

This is not for the easily offended. Snarky, irreverent, dark, twisted takes on some well known fairy tales. Perfect listen if you are in a lousy mood-I was laughing hysterically often. If you like adult cartoon humor you will enjoy this. The performances are all great. As in almost all “collections” some of the stories stand out over others, but all of them are worthy of being included.

I expected more out of this. A lot of great narrators - but the stories weren't as entertaining and engaging as I thought they would be.

I honestly don't know what to think of it.
It's weird. But I kinda like it I guess? Like a lot.
All the performances are truly incredible and I loved how dark most of those stories were.

Super strange and somewhat creepy, but also hilarious cringe worthy. In the introduction it says for people 35 and older, and that’s not entirely wrong... at least, don’t listen with kids around.

The narrators are all excellent, but some of the stories are a bit rubbish. The one read by Patrick Stewart was pretty bad. It's fun light entertainment though, and as a freebie with the Audible subscription it's hard to fault. Good when you want to switch off. I loved the final story based around Snow White, a huge improvement on the worst fairy tale ever written.

This is an odd duck book to listen to and likely just as odd duck to read. These are interesting takes on fairy tales and just interesting takes on telling a story. Some were funny, one was skippable, all were distinctly off the beaten track. Which I knew, sort of, based on the blurb on Goodreads and Audible, but still made for some distinctly flinch-y listening at times.
I don't know if I will listen to more, but I might. It will be a while before I am ready to try again though.
If you like poop humor, talking dogs out to kill their master, wicked witch and children, a middle school girl obsessed with another's bathroom habits....this would be the book for you.
