I really liked this series and books. The smut part of it is wild and definitely took me by surprise more than once. The sexual scenes are a little hard to follow sometimes and hard to visualize in your head what they’re even doing because it gets so complicated and confusing. I love the characters, the storyline in this book was intense and thrilling and I was dedicated to her getting saved and getting revenge.

I’m usually not a “second book” type of person, I usually lose interest half way through the second book so my review could be bias. Hunting Adeline was not as good as the first book, Haunting Adeline. Mid/half point mark of the book, to me, they could have had the resolution of the plot and ended it. The other half of the book was dragged, it definitely had more erotic scene but I was already over it that I just skipped like the last 5 chapters to read the end. Sibby, honestly saved the last half of the book. I love her, she’s funny & I wish we got like a resolution or something for her. And one of the kid that Zade has rescued in part 1 that asked him to be her dad, I wish we got more on that here. Like he adopts her, a marriage scene with adeline or like “5 years after” they got kids and they live happily ever type shit.

2⭐️4🌶️(different type of spice than book 1, not in a positive way)
I read an article a few years ago about the show the handmaid’s tale being torture porn. I felt similarly about this book, specifically part 1. I almost DNFed 20% in bc of this and I have never DNFed anything before. Honestly, I’m not sure even sure how these books got published, the torture part of the book is that graphic. I think it probably could’ve been on wattpad and I would’ve been less shocked reading it on there. If you’re looking for a romance, this is not the series for you. Almost every single spicy scene in book 2
uses blood/knife play, which was a little heavy for me. I was disappointed there was almost no sweet reunion between the main characters.
This book deals HEAVILY on the trauma Addie faces during and after
she has been abducted into a sex trafficking ring.
I liked zade’s character development in this book, and we see him as much more than a stalker who has no choice but to give into his darkest desires. Multiple times he says he’ll burn down the world if it means he can save Addie. I don’t like it’s just thrown out there how jay’s character is bi, I wish we could’ve seen him get together with Michael or something! I probably could’ve skipped the whole series, but definitely could’ve skipped this book and just have read the cliff notes or given them a HEA in my headcanon at the end of book 1. I won’t be rereading due to intense dark themes and graphic details. There’s dark romance, and then there’s this series. Please don’t let your teenagers read this🫶

Part one of this was an emotional roller coaster in the best way. It hurt my soul. Part two was okay, but I hated the dialogue during spicy scenes 😭

It took me a long time to get through this book and I nearly DNF'd about halfway but the last half absolutely made up for it and I'm glad I finished. It is dark dark and toxic and gut-retching and morally gray and I ended up enjoying it much more that the first.

The first part of the book almost had me putting it down and never looking back. The pain and suffering of the main character was a lot to take in.  I never google how books turn out, but I had to know that there was a so called light at the end of the tunnel.  I'm glad I continued reading.
