It was well written. Not sure how I feel about that crafting stuff. And also I do not think that the multiple deleter kind of trope is for me, when literally everybody in the book is one. Also the phantom part was too hurried in my opinion. But I must say that the epilogue was interesting. I liked the first meeting of Lachlan and Lark and their banter and also that it was written from multiplw point of views.

Love love love this book. The ending had me so damn stressed omg

So apparently I really enjoy dark rom-coms! This was such a fun and different read for me. While I prefer Butcher & Blackbird, that doesn't mean this wasn't great as well!
Lachlan & Lark have a really lovely dynamic, which worked perfectly with the slow burn, marriage of convenience set up.
I love how shy and vulnerable Lachlan was with Lark. And Lark is actually unhinged as hell, I love her. I made multiple notes on how crazy she was, but in the best way possible.
The audiobook for this really amps up the reading experience, I don't think I've blushed that much ever. Like... I did not expect it to be as graphic as it was, but it was entertaining for sure.

This was... interesting. If you enjoyed [b:Butcher & Blackbird|196864520|Butcher & Blackbird (The Ruinous Love Trilogy, #1)|Brynne Weaver|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1692083376l/196864520._SY75_.jpg|148641851], I don't see any reason why you wouldn't enjoy this book. I didn't have a lot of thoughts on this book... but I had some. I definitely found it entertaining. I wasn't at all mad I read the story, and I so appreciated the tie-ins and plot of this book. Also... I FUCKING LOVED Aunt Vivian... she stole the show and I was not expecting her story to go the way it went. I'd love a prequel of her!

There was a lot of comedy in this book. The characters were lovable, and there was so much cuteness I could have cuddled a kitten. There was a plot twist I didn't see coming, and this made me interested in Rose and Fionn's story.

Sooo why the low rating? I feel it's here I need to remind folks that this goes by personal preference. Things I do not like in a book are miscommunication, lying by omission, or protection by omission. Lark and Lochlain's story was full of both, and BLAAAAH. This was also a slow-ish burn, and I didn't feel like their scenes made up for it, for what I like to read. In B&B, while there weren't a lot of scenes, their first fucking scene—when she was in the tub... and the resulting actions... yeah... chef's kiss beautifully written. I low-key felt gypped with these two. I felt like Lochlain just went soft on me. I dunno. I think it was missing... something.

Was tis Dark, nah. Are they serial killers, Meh. If you liked Butcher & Blackbird, you should give this book a whirl. While it wasn't my favorite, I'm not mad I read it. However, if there wasn't a connecting plot (I'm not sure if there is or isn't), I probably could have skipped it. But hey, to each their own!

Oh yea... I'm still eating pizza and beer together, meh - I might even grab a milkshake for dessert....
