This was the perfect forced proximity/ roommates & brothers best friend that I wanted to read at this moment.

Iris and Wilder are the perfect couple and I loved their story.

If you want to read something that is low on drama but high on steam, this is the perfect pick!

iris & wilder are so special. i loved their story more than i expected to. broody is the perfect word to describe wilder. he’s grumpy and hot and doesn’t like change.. that is until iris comes in with all her outfits and sunshine and changes his entire world.

iris

devney’s books are like coming home. well, if home is a small town in montana. the characters she writes and the towns they live in feel so real, you can’t help but feel like you’re apart of it.

wilder abbott just wants to live his life in solitude. that all changes when his best friend calls in a favor, let his younger sister stay with him for two months. reluctantly he agrees and wilder is not ready for the sunshine that is iris monroe. she loves fiercely and doesn’t know how to not ask questions.

both of them have this undeniable attraction and when they finally allow themselves to feel something for each other and to live in the moment, not hiding in the past or constantly on the move, we get such a beautiful story of love.

i’m a sucker for brother’s best friend, add in an age gap, a grumpy, broody mc, and forced proximity, you know it’s going to be amazing.

*thank you @devneyperry and @valentine_pr_ for the arc*

Iris has been traveling everywhere for many years and when she decides to visit Calamity her brother says she can stay with his best friend, what she doesn't know is that Wilder is a grump who will soon steal her heart.
funny lighthearted fast-paced

SO many tropes that I live for- a grumpy-sunhine, small town, best friend's sister AGE GAP! And a Devney story- UHM SOLD! I love the Calamity world, so I was excited to dive back into it with Wilder and Iris. And I really enjoyed their story. Both characters are quite charming, and I love how Devney juxtaposes their traits while also helping them find a shared connection and a compelling chemistry. Overall, the story is really low drama and low angst- there is certainly some tension relative to the age gap, opposite personalities, and the forbidden angle, but not quite as much as I anticipated. Overall it was just blissfully a sweet and smooth sailing story- with two characters who can't stay away from each other and who somehow are the perfect fit for one another despite how on the surface they might not seem so perfectly suited. I loved them together, and this definitely hit the spot for a low angst read. The audio was well done, and I love to listen to lighter stories that way so I'm glad I picked this one up in audio since I think I enjoyed it more in that format. And Devney/Willa's audios are always impeccably produced!
