One of the first classics I ever read (the first was Pilgrim's Progress). It was hard to read when I first read it (I was eleven or twelve) due to all of the nautical terminology, but I appreciate it now that I understand many of the terms. I highly recommend this book. Verne created an immortal classic.

I must have been twelve when I read this... I think I felt it was pretty good back then... four stars it is!

Took me a lot longer than I had anticipated to finish this one. Ultimately I don't think this is a bad book, it just certainly isn't all I had hoped for. There are certainly some fun moments and it's interesting to see how Verne theorised about technology and the world, but it's all properly bogged down in an excess of other boring detail and moments.

Aside from the narrator accidentally knocking himself out for the action at the end, this book was exactly everything I love in a boring book. 😂

It was a rollercoster of experiences that I really want to experience with Captain Nemo and Pof. Aronnax.

I understand those who didn’t like this book...but I loved this book.

I give up. It’s too many lists of things living in the ocean.
