Starts out pretty slow, wasn't quite sure what the overall plot was going to be. I kept expecting something to happen. It wasn't until about just past 50% into the book that the catalyst event occurs so just be prepared for a lot of story building.

Not even worldbuilding, cause you learn so much more once the story starts actually picking up speed. Once I got into the back half of the book, I really enjoyed the story and the progression of the characters.

30% in and nothing has happened. There’s also a lot of unnecessary sexual violence.

The first book in this series is kinda slow and not too exciting, BUT!! It gets BETTER! I really like this series!

Update: I need to reread this, cause now that I have read all five books I can’t believe I gave the first book 3 stars?!?!?
I friggin LOVE this series

Writing was good. Banter was good (or inner monologue). Interested enough to read the next one

This book series feels like watching a train wreck, you don’t want to read it but you can’t stop
