Man, it took me so long to read this book but that’s more on me than on this book. It’s definitely got a lot of fall vibes so I was pretty happy with my timing on reading it. I liked both Willow and Mason and found them to be fairly level headed for teenage protagonists. I thought things resolved with both of their storylines rather quickly, but it didn’t detract too much from the rest of the book. Overall, this was a nice fall read with some surprising depth.

I loved reading this book. The characters were people I liked hanging out with and the story was engaging. I loved all of the random facts scattered into the pages. I finished reading this book on my sister's birthday and felt like I really really had to call her and talk to her ASAP!

this was such a lovely book.

Mason and Willow were so sweet. It was like a dream reading them work together so honestly and effortlessly.

the romance was cute and I loved reading that part of it but what really captured me was the magic and family Willow got to explore and find throughout the book both through her mom and her aunt.

I love watching women reclaim parts of themselves they’ve lost and just freely be.

I found myself so invested in the Bell family history I was right there with Willow.

everything about the world felt so charming and magical…lol

I loved having dual POV bc they’ll they were both very much going through it mentally.

7/7 now I wanna live in an old witch’s house.

4.5 stars
This was such a cute YA romance. It gave off MAJOR fall vibes, so I would recommend reading it during the fall, and also if you're looking for a book that also has a little bit of mystery too it, I would definitely recommend this book.

4-with some true 4.5 stars moments! This was a great read! I grew up in and around Salem so hearing all of the incredibly accurate references really made me immersed in the book. The author did an amazing job with that research! I loved the premise of this book and how drawn in I was to all of its elements. It’s a really strong YA read and I’m glad to have finally gotten my hands on a copy! There are some loose ends that aren’t tied up (Bea, willow’s dad, Emma’s daughter Nova, etc) that I’d have liked to seen finish their arc but overall I enjoyed the story. My heart aches for mason’s storyline and I love how fascinated he is with stargazing (I can relate lol). Docked half a star because it started strong, got a little bit weak and directionless in the middle and then wrapped up fast but overall, I really enjoyed it and being able to place myself exactly where the characters were (Gulu Gulu café, hotel salem, the movie theater, all of it!). I’m sad that I finished it!
