I just didn't vibe with this book. I'm not sure if it's the characters, the way the story is moving, or simply that it's not the right time for me to give this a read, I'm done trying to force myself

I found the book a bit too blatantly meta for me and the handling of complex topics was intensely clunky at times. I think it had a lot to say and very interesting themes and I enjoyed a lot of the character interactions, particularly between the main character and side characters —- it was hysterically funny. I have mixed feelings about the way female characters are sexualised as it is intentional and satirical, but I just felt like it was still lacking as it feels like the roles the female characters played was just dismissed. One thing I did love about this book however was the subverting of archetypal roles, regarding the role of ‘distressed heroine’ and the way it's is overlayed onto the main character instead. I though that was cleverly done
