Finding Hayes

Well, she did it again! Laura will forever be a comfort read for me and this was no exception! I was on pins and needles for Hayes because, honestly, I love a good grumpy hero, am I right?

I feel like best friends to lovers can be tricky and sometimes they're hit or miss but Laura absolutely crushed this trope. Hayes and Savvy being best friends growing up (but secretly pining for each other) and then coming back together all those years later after she just left?! Full stop. I could barely handle the tension. Then add in marriage of convenience?! RIP Stephanie.

It was absolute perfection! Finding Hayes is out now and you won't want to miss it!

Hayes & Savannah had gone through some stuff together and separately and became estranged. He always harbored feelings for her but denied them and now he’s agreed to be her fake husband for 90 days.

Beefcake is back, baby!

I swear I’m obsessed with that fictional child. But I have been so excited for Hayes’ book and it did not disappoint. I looove a bear of a man who becomes a teddy bear for his woman and that’s exactly who Hayes is.

Savannah was admirable and she loved hard and loudly. Gruff, grumbly Hayes becoming an absolute marshmallow for Savvy was AMAZING.

I loved closing out the stories for RoD and seeing them all grow and be happy.

Thank you to Laura & Valentine PR.

Perfect way to wrap up the Magnolia falls series ❤️

4.5⭐️
So bittersweet to be done with this series, but I loved Hayes happy ending!

I love Laura's stories. There is always such depth to her characters and the worlds she builds. I also love that more often than not the worlds all tie into each other. This book is no exception. Hayes and Savanna are by far the best second chance/ unrequited love couples I have ever read. There is a lot of love here, between Hayes and Savanna and Hayes and his ride or die friends. And of course, then there's beefcake. I am so tickled he made a few cameos in this story!

The conflict was mostly internal, however the conflict that existed, I wish there was more of it. But at the same time, I am so thrilled that this did not end up a 3rd act breakup. I was sitting there holding my breath willing them to get it together and they did!! I have a permanent place in my heart for the Magnolia Falls family. I can't believe this is goodbye!!!!

Overall if you like these tropes, I think you will love this story!
Forced Proximity
Marriage of Convenience
Childhood Friends
Unrequited Love/ Second Chance
He sent letters for months after she left
He never quit loving her
Broody Firefighter Hero

This was a cute book. I had tried to read the previous one in the series but didn’t finish. This one held my attention better. I did find the timing a bit confusing but i could overlook that here.

I liked that the miscommunication from their childhood didn’t get dragged out too long and that it was confronted head on by the mmc. The 2 main characters were clearly made for each other.

Good use of side characters in building the world. I do feel like there could’ve been another scene at the firehouse after introducing all those characters.

I wish the epilogue was set further into the future and that the author didn’t require you to download(sign up for her email list) in order to see the birth of the twins, learn their names etc. I also felt like a more in the future epilogue could’ve wrapped up the storyline with the fmc father, which was left pretty open ended considering how early he was into his treatment. Instead it felt like it was more about setting up the next couple in the authors new series.

Overall it was a cute book.

Is it allergy season again?
