Finding Hayes

4.5 This was hands down my favorite in the series. The childhood friends to strangers to lovers with marriage of convenience WAS SO GOOD. The found family in this series has been my favorite of Laura's yet, and I am really excited to read her next series as I think we got a little easter egg thrown into this book on who the main character is going to be!

ARC/ALC Review

Finding Hayes is the fifth and final book in the Magnolia Falls series.

Savannah Abbott left Magnolia Falls with her father over 10 years ago. Now she has come back for Abe’s funeral. Abe was like family to Savannah. He left her everything - the house, the land, and an inheritance. There was one stipulation, get married within thirty days and stay married for at least three months.

After more than a decade, Hayes Woodson sees Savannah again. She was his best friend, neighbor, and the person he’d confided in so many years ago. He didn’t know why she left without a word and never contacted him again. What he did know is that she now treated him like the enemy.

Hayes vowed to never get married after everything that happened to him in the past. But when he learns that Savannah needs a husband to receive the full inheritance, he willing to make an exception. It’s only temporary and fake as Savannah likes to remind him. While trying to convince everyone in public that they are hopelessly in love, the tension between them grows. Savannah finally learns the truth about what happened ten years ago, and they both feel robbed of the time they could’ve had together. As they make up for lost time and their relationship grows, something unexpected happens that threatens to rip everything apart. Savannah is the fire Hayes has been missing for years and he’s willing to do anything not to extinguish it.

This was the perfect ending one of my favorite series! Finding Hayes is my favorite book of the series. Forbidden King is a close second though. I loved Hayes and Savannah’s story. I love the childhood friends to lovers trope and this book gave that. The pacing of how they rekindled their friendship then fell in love was great. I liked that we learned the reason why Savannah had cut Hayes out of her life and that she learned the truth earlier in the book than later. It wasn’t a conflict that took majority of the book to resolve. Before Savannah came back to town, Hayes was closed off and didn’t trust many people. His childhood was ruff and Savannah leaving when everything was falling apart made him put his guard up. When she came back, it was like the fire he lost was put back into place. She helped him feel and want things he thought he couldn’t have. This book had me going through all the emotions. Beefcake is the most adorable kid on the planet. I loved that we got to see the entire found family together at the end. I’m sad that this series is over. I will be impatiently waiting for Easton’s book to come out.

I also listened to the audiobook and loved it. Andi Arndt and Lee Samuels did a great job bringing the characters to life. I like that the narrators aren’t just reading the book in a monotone way. They are actually acting some parts - like Andi Arndt actually sang the song Savannah wrote. Definitely recommend listening to the audiobook.

Thank you Laura Pavlov and Valentine PR for the ARC and ALC!

(full disclosure, I am writing this review after finishing the entire series!)

Ex-childhood best friends to lovers? Sign me up! We have Savannah (Savvy) and Hayes. Childhood best friends…who haven’t seen each other in over a decade after Savvy left without a word. Now, she’s back in Magnolia Falls following the death of a man who was like a grandfather to her. The interesting part? She’s been left his fixer-upper farmhouse and his million dollar inheritance. The catch? She needs to be married to receive it.

I loved every second of this book! We were set up for this duo in the Beating Heart epilogue, and I’m so happy I’m reading these after the series is finished because I immediately picked up Finding Hayes.

I’d definitely recommend reading if you enjoy the following tropes:
• childhood best friends to lovers
• small town
• marriage of convenience
• forced proximity
• band of brothers

Remember how I said Beating Heart was my favorite? Well, now it’s tied with Finding Hayes ♡

my one tiny consistent irk:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: every man in the Magnolia Falls series turns into the same blueprint guy when the spice comes in. At this point, I’ve just come to except it. I’m hoping other series have some more variety, but only time will tell…

The final book in the Magnolia Falls series 😭

I have loved my time in Magnolia Falls and am so sad it’s over, but what a beautiful story to end on 🥹

Hayes’ transition from grumpy bachelor to the perfect cinnamon role was everything. The moment he realised what he really wanted and the way he surprised Savannah to tell her (even though she had a surprise of her own) was too cute.

Seeing the two of them work through years of misunderstanding, absence, and hidden feelings only to have it develop into something so heart warming was so beautiful to read.

I loved the light introduction into Rosewood River too.

Thank you Laura Pavlov for this amazing series, you are my new autobuy author 🩷

“I’ve been good on my own for a long time, and now you’re here, and you’re all I see. Maybe it was always you, and that’s why nothing else ever worked when you were gone. Maybe you’ve been what’s missing all along.”

I really enjoyed this and Savannah and Hayes were super cute! This was a really good end to a really good series! The found family in this was my favorite!

The 5th and final book in this series and I bloody loved it. Been waiting 5 books for Hayes story and it was just as good as I imagined it could be.
See the miscommunication that led to him and Sav being separated broke my heart. But seeing how quick Hayes stepped in to help Sav with the clause on the contract was the first signs he was cracking to opening back up to love in his life. Loved that they kept the farm house and were having babies. Loved this book and going to miss this little town a lot! 🥰

Ughhhhh I’m so sad this series is over. Laura could never and will never disappoint me, I just loved this series to pieces and Hayes and Sav were the perfect couple to close it all off. That grumpy man just needed his person to find her way back to him and it happened just the way it was supposed to. A very much deserved HEA
