Actual Rating: 3.5-4 Stars

Caught follows the story of Jarod and Vivian. Vivian works hard at her job as a PR professional. She’s at the top of her game and takes her job very seriously. Her newest client may prove to be her biggest challenge yet. Jarod loves his life and loves racing. He’s never been one to care about what people think of him, until one incident nearly costs Jarod everything. That’s where Vivian comes into play. He hopes that she will be able to turn his career around. Then he meets Vivian and it’s like all bets are off. Jarod is supposed to fix his career and leave his bad boy reputation behind. But, there’s something about Vivian that just draws him in and will test his control….

Caught was a sexy, quick read for me. From the moment I read the first page, I couldn’t wait to read more. I loved the chemistry between Jarod and Vivian. They had an instant connection. I liked how Jarod made Vivian step out her comfort zone and start really living. Vivian was a great challenge for Jarod. She didn’t make things easy for him. She challenged and fought him. I loved the push and pull between the two of them. I liked watching them try to maneuver their personal and professional relationship. I couldn’t get enough of the two them together.

Overall, I thought this was an enjoyable read. I loved the steam, the angst, the drama, and of course the romance. There were a few good twists thrown in along the way and it was fun trying to figure those out. This book was very entertaining and I’m glad I checked it out.

One-Sentence Summary: PR Guru

Review: Well, here's a warning to you all: there's a scene early on in the book will have every modern woman cringe and I am fairly certain that the moment that SpoilerViv strips off in the middle of her office in order to get Jarod to pay attention to her (minutes after meeting him for the first time) and take her seriously (ha!) so she can reform his playboys ways (the irony!) which will in turn get her a promotion single-handedly erases the decades and decades of blood, sweat and tears that women everywhere have put into getting themselves taken seriously in a male dominated environment.

If you can get past that moment then the rest of the book plods along pretty much as expected.

Caught by Clare JamesMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Bring on the ice, Caught is a scorcher. It started with a bang and kept getting better. A misunderstood bad boy and a straight laced workaholic could end up being each others saving grace. Viv is tasked with cleaning up Jarod's image after a particularly embarrassing fiasco. What ensues gives new meaning to the words spin doctor. Clare James wrote a steamy, awkwardly amusing look at unexpected love. Received an ARC of Caught for an honest review.(www.goodreads.com/review/list/25556913-isha-coleman)

You have to get past the extremely unprofessional first meeting between these two for the story to work. And I do mean unprofessional … but super hot. Jarod definitely has moves both on and off the track. And that’s what got him into trouble in the first place :)

Caught is sexy and fun - together Jordan and Viv are sassy and sizzling. They keep telling themselves that they aren’t getting involved, but what they say out loud isn’t what’s going on on the inside. The sparks that fly while they butt heads is definitely caused by more than just opposing views and when they let that attraction free it gets quite steamy.

There is more going on between the two besides just the sex, though. Jarod has had people trying to get a piece of him his entire life and it is hard to trust that someone isn’t out to get something from him. And Viv doesn’t have the best track record with men … especially men as complicated as her racecar driver.

They have a lot of work ahead of them, not just trying to clean up Jarod’s image, but in trying to find a way to forge a real relationship. One that is based on more than just their hormones. It’s not going to be easy when neither is willing to let their heart rule and take a chance on someone else.

Wow- this book is a seriously wild ride! (Pardon the mild NASCAR pun- I simply couldn't help myself). But seriously, though, this book is a whole hell of a lot of fun. I'm a sucker for sports romance, and I've never read a NASCAR one before, but the vibrant way that Clare James writes about the track and the racing itself had me hooked form the start. If her descriptions are anything close to reality- the sport is exhilarating and the speed is a turn on.

I loved Viv as the heroine in this novel. She's just a little bit too smart for her own good and slips up right away as she mildly insults the sport of racing right in front of the man of the hour, but she redeems herself right away with a brazen attempt at making him feel more comfortable about hiring her. I loved her self assurance and sass and the way she's the perfect match for cocky and self-assured Jarod. Let's just say that I totally underestimated the benefits of having a closet in your office. Holy heck- that scene is sexy as hell.

And oh, Jarod. He is everything you could possibly ask for in an alpha male hero, and I totally dig the bad boy vibe he gives off throughout the novel. The fact that it is balanced by this sweet, caring side only made him more desirable, and I dare readers to not fall in love with him.

This novel is a wonderful addition to Entangled's awesome Brazen line. It is chock full of sexy moments and heart-racing action. It reads quick and absolutely races towards the finish. (Okay, okay- I'm done).

DNF
Here’s to another Brazen fail this month… This one obviously worst than my last try because my rating decision was a rather abrupt and rash one : DNF.
I read steadily but rather slowly up until 65% then skimmed through the end.

I picked "Caught" by Clare James because of the blurb and the fact that I was in a book funk after a fantastic read. I thought I nice quick read would help me get out of it, and what’s best than a hot and light Brazen to set my reading mojo right? Right?

The synopsis promised an entertaining and hot read, the hero, Jarod Cage, a notorious NASCAR driver has been caught pants down by a security camera.
Heroine Vivian Blake, a talented PR, is hired to get Jarod’s back on track and re-assess his public image. He has no choice but to accept or lose his sponsors and damage his career.

It should have been a nice and safe drive for me and despite a rather hot start with the description of the sextape, the race ended to an abrupt stop after one to many absurd behavior from the heroine.
She was a complete nonsense. She proved herself to be a walking contradiction and I could not bear to read one more foolish minute of her.

Jarod’s character was hot, but didn’t hold my attention. He was running after an judgmental and annoying woman, I really didn’t understand the attraction between them. It felt… forced. On top of that the author tried to insufflate some bad boy vibe to him, but his persona and behavior never matched…

In conclusion, Caught had some potential but I never could connect with the heroine or the hero.
Don’t let my picky self stop you from trying it, I was obviously in a reading funk and Caught wasn’t up to my expectations.

i typically love entangled books but this one was just ok for me.

this story was kind of all over the place. both MC's were hot and cold...sometimes they were great and sometimes not. they would do something nice for each other and treat each other like crap in the next scene. i'm not sure if i liked either one of them. the story was riddled with stereotypical behavior for both jarod (the southern good ole' boy) and vivian (the cold, heartless yank).

there was a subplot with frederick that didn't add much to the story other than another semi-protagonist. miranda was a b!tch. mel was a decent character but a little over the top.

part of my problem is a bit of a spoiler, so i'm hiding it here...

Spoiler i had a really hard time with how quickly vivian 'fell into bed' with jarod...the whole quid pro quo thing was really far fetched and that vivian was chasing the corporate dream and dropped her clothes in the closet was a bit too much for me. and she is attempting to change his image however doing the exact thing that got him in trouble to begin with which really bothered me.

overall, i didn't hate it but i didn't love it.
