Cute and laugh out loud funny

So few books in the romance genre make me laugh out loud because the author has written something witty, probably with the exception of Debra Anastasia and Penny Reid. So this book was refreshing. Lane is hilarious and Jared is so adorably flummoxed by him. Definitely worth a read.

So this would have a four star if I hadnt been so uncomfortable with the first half of the book and how Lane kept talking about Zoe's tits. It came off creepy and made me really uncomfortable and almost made me wish Zoe wasn't a character even though she was amazing and I loved her. Like i understand Lane is socially inept and probably on the spectrum but really that is never an excuse to make creepy comments like that.

Apart from that I really enjoyed the romance between Jared and Lane. They are great for each other and I will be continuing the series depsite my issues with this book. It had me laughing and blushing at certain parts so it was still enjoyable

I was in the mood for an mm hockey romance and I remembered reading and liking Avon Gale before, and this one wasn't bad, again I'm having weird mood about reading at the moment, but I loved Lane and his entire character. Super awkward characters are super cute and Lane was super awkward and cute!! I just wasn't a big fan of the story in general and the chemistry between the main characters just didn't do it for me.

I do want to read the rest of this series soon tho!

3.5*
I do like ice hockey stories, usually for all that macho testosterone flying about.
This wasn't all macho, it was fairly even tempered, flowing along on a gentlewave rather than high rollers and deep troughs.
I did enjoyed Jared, Lane was cute and funny and naive and annoying all at once. I liked them as a couple.
The situations were fairly glossed over and all worked out - though with Jared and Lane being in different teams, one of them had to loose big time eventually. I was probably xpecting more angst but even easy reading builds up towards the end and the guys have their beginning in Toronto ending their story.
Overall, enjoyed it.

Cute. Lane definitely carried the story as did a few other characters, because the plot was so meh

Enjoyed this hockey story and thought Jared had the patience of a saint. I don't think I could have stayed long in lane's company. Loved Zoe!!

DID NOT FINISH: 11%

DNF'd at 11% - Writing style doesn't work for me and I find the characters cringey and uninteresting.
