Dead to Her

There are so few books where you hate every character, but this is one. I only finished because I had hoped the Pinborough twist would lead to everyone getting their due.

Plenty of eye rolling moments and cringey writing, pretty disappointed in this one overall.

This was genuinely so terrible, it’s appropriate that the author has an apology in the first section of her acknowledgments.

This book was crazy!!!! So many twists and turns. Just when you think you’ve figured out the culprit, another character does something just as nutty and moves the suspicion to them.

Oh my goodness I love this book so much there are so many twist and turns in it and I finally figured it out at the very end right before it was revealed I couldn't believe I could figure it out but I did I recommend this book to anybody and everybody that looks good little Thriller

I enjoyed this book, although I did find it a bit bizarre. It was a cleverly written thriller about a bunch of elite people who are based in Savannah. The two main characters are called Marcie and Keisha and the story follows both of them on their adventures within different families. They are quite complex characters, with both of them having a similar past. In the book there is a lot of sex, secrets, voodoo, cheating, lying, drug and alcohol taking and murder.

Although I did enjoy this book, I will be honest and say that I did prefer Sarah's other book 'Behind Her Eyes'.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the last book I'll be reading from this author. Behind Her Eyes was great. Cross Her Heart was decent. Then I tried reading one I couldn't finish and now this? This one just doesn't sit well with me. Hard to explain beyond summing it up as this: written by a white woman from the UK writing about Black people doing voodoo in Georgia (The US). Big yikes.

This was sooo boring. Really long for no reason with a lot of the “twists” happening really early in the book so the second half just dragged on and on. The characters don’t have enough depth for their descent into madness / bad behavior to be interesting at all. This could have been 200 pages shorter!!
