The idea of this book was so good. Two complete opposites staying in one apartment over the course of the Wimbledon season, however it just went down hill from there lol

Iโ€™m going to the honest and say that this book was really not well written at all. It felt very childish and almost like a wattpad fan fiction of y/n and a famous tennis player and not in a good way.

This is in no way an enemies to lovers btw, they donโ€™t hate each other at all they literally just are in a bad mood when they meet and then by day 2-3 theyโ€™re perfectly fine.

This book was so hard to get into from the start. The FMC is so unlikeable, I physically could not read more than one chapter in a single sitting.

She was so incredibly stupid at times it was laughable, renting out the apartment although it would breech her renters contract (like how did you not think of this), not assuming that Kieran was there as the new renter and more.

Their relationship sort of happened so randomly and over nothing like it just felt like a summer fling like i truly did not feel attached to their relationship nor was i worried when the third act breakup happened. I truly did not care for the romance at all. Thereโ€™s no reality in which they actually stay together after Wimbledon

Page 7: okay so her day is as shitty as they get
Page 17: heโ€™s a cunt
Page 37: sheโ€™s being a bit difficult with her requirements
Page 39: slightly you say
Page 42: girl calm down, he isnโ€™t insulting you
Page 48: it is her fault
Page 54: he is showering, let him be
Page 64. Thereโ€™s no reason for him to be like that
Page 65: call of duty gives me the ick
Page 71: aww the smoothie is noce
Page74: heโ€™s definitely trying to make her leave
Page 90: he knows heartstopper, green flag
Page 114: a bit weird that she is using his training things
Page 124: I feel like sheโ€™s a bit to much. I feel awkward
Page 126: donโ€™t hold a guy youโ€™ve known for two weeks hand, thatโ€™s weird. It is also weird that sheโ€™s lowkey making him the main character in her story
Page 137: this would be cute if they had know each other longer
Page 147: she needs to calm down
Page 148: this is simply so awkward
Page 185: flossie is an odd nickname
Page 195: again, you donโ€™t know each other that well
Page 232: I really thought kerb was spelled curb
Page 245: niel is like right outside, isnโ€™t he?
Page 273: obviously heโ€™s better when sheโ€™s there

This book was a bit bland, it didn't really speak to me haha. Like the story was cute, but there was no reason for him to be such an idiot in the beginning and I also find it so unrealistic to fall in love with someone that quick. I found a lot of the book (especially the beginning) so awkward, and a lot of that awkwardness would have been resolved if they had known each other for longer. I feel like it just randomly switched from them hating each other to them kissing, if they had known each other longer, there could have been a lot more tension built up, and not make it seem so sudden. I also found it odd that she based her graphic novel on him, without them really knowing each other. A lot of the time I feel like she needed to calm down.

An enjoyable read. The tennis was written well and it was very escapist. If you know Wimbledon, both the tournament and SW London in general, then there are some noticeable inaccuracies and potentially Americanised aspects but overall lots of fun, (except the epilogue which had a romance trope I dislike but we move).
