This was such a surprise to me! I hadn’t heard about this book or had it recommended so I went with zero expectations…. And it was 5 ⭐️ for the vibes!
An adorable, charming, silly, fun, romantic read! It’s a sports romance with forced proximity (yes, accidental roomies!!), enemies to lovers, miscommunication, and a grand gesture HEA! So all the things we love!
There was some fun, smoochy stuff, so much banter, romance, overcoming individual personal and family journeys, loss, and of course, tennis! Honestly, if men like Kieran are playing tennis, get me a skirt and a racket! He was so sexy and broody but also supportive warm. I was obsessed… almost as obsessed as he was with Flora. Flora was a fun, creative, funny, empathetic, loving FMC and I loved her right away. I love a book that follows a woman that I would love to be friends with!
I could have read 300 more pages about these two- loved the book! A 5 ⭐️ that snuck up on me- it was just so entertaining!! Add it to your TBR asap!

The fact that this book was recommended for fans of "Icebreaker" was a big red flag for me, but I decided to give it a chance. I was expecting something similar to "Challengers," but instead, I got a strange soap opera. I believe that prologues are unnecessary unless the information can't be woven into the main story, and this book's long, boring prologue was definitely not needed. It was painfully cliché and ruined my first impression. Unfortunately, the book didn't improve much after that. The female main character had too many issues and was constantly whining about something. This was not the light, summery tennis romance I was hoping for.

Is this book realistic, no not really, however it was wholesome and sweet. I love tennis, so I’m always seeking out a good tennis romance book and this was pretty good. I love a grumpy hot tennis player thank you very much

You ever just have an anticipated read fall a bit flat? Cuz yeah, that was this for me...
I went into this with such high hopes because who doesn't want to read a summery tennis romance?
However, I struggled. I found Flora sp insufferable and half the time she opened her gob I wanted to slap her... I thought she would get better once she got the guy, but no, she managed to get worse. I think this is one of the first times I would say a third act break up helped the vook, if only it was for like a page. By the second half, things were looking up, they were being cute and coupley and it was sweet. And then I got to the epilogue... what a waste of an epilogue that was! I wanted to see big things and I feel like I got the opposite. The epilogue I got felt like it should have been 5 years on not 1.
Absolutely gutted I didn't enjoy this book as much, but at the same time not every book can be for everyone...
