Rounding this rating up because I love that this felt real and the HEA was not some magical "everything works out!" HEA, but a real HEA where the characters acknowledge it's hard, but worth it. Both Dani and Prince have their own baggage to deal with, but the way they come together and build a relationship despite that was so sweet. I especially loved how patient and wonderful Prince was with Dani as she worked through what happened to her. And I loved how Dani supported Prince and his family (especially buying books for his brother!!!!). These two were simply really great characters to watch come together and fall in love and the supporting cast is perfectly that--supporting and supportive.
This was very sweet, but very young for me. I read it for a book club, but typically would not have since it’s YA romance. Def a perfect one for HS students.

A good read I wish I had read this when I was younger.
Obviously I read this because I share the same name as the author, just kidding lol.
But in all seriousness, I would’ve loved to have read this book in high school. It included heavy topics without making the book a heavy read.
The relationship between the main characters was well paced and let me dive into their past perfectly to understand why they think they way they do and their actions. The supporting/side characters were fleshed out enough to support the main characters and actually add more character to them if that make sense. The dynamic between family and friends and the main characters was just chef’s kiss. The gestures were so sweet. I mean he helped her take out her box braids! Need I say more?! There was a bit of miscommunication trope towards the end but I forgave it based on the age of the characters of the book. Some might say this book wasn’t perfect but for me it was perfect in a way I wasn’t expecting. It honestly felt like the prequel to Honey & Spice despite not being related books. Love Radio feels like it’s perfect for younger Ebony. Honey & Spice feels right for older Ebony if that makes sense. I’d buy the physical copy in heartbeat to add to my bookshelf.
