Burned ended way too early and way too abruptly for my liking, especially since I was waiting for so much stuff to happen that did not. We should have had the chance to get to know Jade's character better; Mac and Barrons should have had sex at least one actual conversation and Barrons should have said more than, like, seventeen words throughout the whole book; there should have totally been a new evil, sentient bad guy instead of the Crimson Hag that I got bored of; and there should have been more action - saving Christian for the duration of 500 pages got pretty old.
And was Karen Marie Moning planning to get to the point of that Prologue?
Basically, Iced, which I did not look forward to reading was so much better than Burned, which I actually could not wait to read.

This has convinced me to read the second book!
Mac and Barrons are back and the story is awesome!!!
I did not totally love the book preceding this one, but once you get reading Burned you realize that Ms. Moning needed to spend time developing the character of Dani. And, you learn why Mac and Barrons seem to have vanished from sight. (Being locked up for hot, steamy sex was not the primary reason.)

Not my favorite in the series. The characters are still great, and I love the writing stye. Lots and lots of sexual thoughts and conversations. Im not sure I need to know about how often the characters think of sex, or how big and hard everyones body is all the time. Its almost like the story was short so she peppered it with sections of sex, or pages of erotic thoughts. It seemed to take away from Macs integrity as a character. Never the less, I will read the next in the series.
It has been too long in between Iced and Burned for my taste. However, this book does not dissappoint. The glossary in the back of the book is very helpful, since all the terms and people and places are getting a bit confusing with so much time in between books.
I do hate the cliffhangers every time though.
Can't wait for the next one!!

4.5 Stars. so good. but damn another cliff hanger! I didn't really like Jada and no Dani /Ryo continuation.. boo! and Mac invisible bored me.. where's the sex?! lol
This worked a lot better than the previous book, in terms of switching narrators; they were named at the start of each chapter/switch.
I’m glad we’re seeing more from Mac’s perspective again.

Loved it! Why? Because I've missed Mac and Barrons! Dani gets play time too, but I prefer Mac's perspective more. There's a lot going on in this book, and not everyone or everything is as it seems. The story unfolds using several POV's, so I was never bored. Lor's POV is nothing if yummy and humorous. And Barrons' adds a whole new level and feature to his character development.
The only downturn to such a wonderfully engaging book is knowing that it may take two more years for the next one to arrive!
