So I'm going to reduce the star ratings for the first two books. I read a review that pointed out things I was glassing over. Rape should never be used as a plot device, and woman should not be finding their worth through the male gaze. After reading that in a review of book 2 I picked up book three and what does it start with? One character being poetic about how she's still mad that she ignored the warnings of the people who cared about her and she put herself in the position to be assaulted. Then when people in the now time point out her held anger she stays angry until a person, who is supposed to be the enemy, gives her a compliment and that softens her anger that some random GUY thinks she's pretty. No really. I've lost all interest and respect for the author and will not be reading any more of this series.

Nota: 9,5/10

No specific spoilers here. It has taken me a few days to try to write a coherent review following my emotional turmoil and profuse sobbing after completing this series.

Endsinger is a truly satisfying conclusion to the Lotus Wars. Kristoff continues to solidify himself as a master storyteller. The sheer creativity of the plot, well developed characters and relationships as well as the profound writing style make this a stunning read. Reading this series is an experience for the senses.

Having read Kristoff's stance on happy endings, I tried to prepare myself for the worst but hoped for the best. I was not disappointed. The losses sustained are meaningful and necessary for the story. That being said, they were still gut-wrenching. Despite the heartache, this remains probably my most memorable read of 2014. I have the strong desire to immediately start the series again just to relive the highs and lows of such a beautiful kinship and poignant portrait of human and beastkind at their best and worst.

4.5/5. Mr. Kristoff?! How dare you? Make me cry? Not to include spoilers but the ending made me cry. I really loved the character development that we got in this book. We also got a lot of back stories that I had been waiting for for the entire series. The last two battles were done SO WELL (and I don’t even like reading battle scenes, they usually bore me). I was also worried about my favorite character, Kin (I never doubted him but I was worried about his ending). Overall I’m satisfied with the journey it took to get here even if it was a struggle at times.

This has been a good trilogy. There's a couple of times where it seemed to go off track, but on the whole it was well worth reading.

This series. This fucking series. I am in awe at Jay Kristoff's ability to tell a story, and his seemingly lack of fucks given over his reader's fragile little hearts. The feels, man! I found myself chuckling over the exchanges between the characters (Akihito, Michi, and the Blackbird especially) one minute and then the next I am completely gutted and getting snot everywhere and my dog is looking at me like I am something from the Exorcist and then I snot on her and... it was not a pretty sight.

The characterization is amazing. The world building is even better. Some things were so far-fetched but it was told so convincingly I was able to go along with it. The world is vivid and surprisingly, parts of it are relatable. I fell in love with this world and the people in it and am so sad to see one of my all time favorite series come to an end. I will have to reread this again in the future.

P.S. I also may or may not have jizzed a little every time Buruu or Yoshi were center stage.
