Lots of mysteries and murder going on with Rob and Adam, local deputy and FBI, doing the sleuthing.
The mysteries were just that, I felt I had to keep a tight check on what was done when and to who. And I'm still not sure exactly what happened 30 years ago, but we know who but why they carried on - so I do feel a bit cheated there.
I did enjoy Rob and Adam together - though for any chance they will need to talk properly - talk about taciturn men!!
So different from some of JL's others, writing as tight as ever, enjoyed it, would read about these two again.
Will reread again.

Josh Lanyon is one of those writers I find I put off reading for unknown reasons, yet when I do pick up a book, I end up loving it to bits. This was no different. Strong, interesting, well-written MCs. An engaging mystery that leaves you guessing until the end. Really what more can I ask for? Well, in this books' case, I really wish the author had not provided the epilogue she did, but had either left it as a complete mystery if the MCs would try a relationship or written a more fleshed out epilogue or even better, a sequel.

The ending really left me disappointed, as it left me with more questions than I had before I read the last chapter :(

This was a good listen. The external plot ended really, really quickly, though, without really wrapping up.

If you enjoy murder mysteries with a side of gay romance, then this book is for you. The romance is not the focus, though it certainly plays a role.

I did not love the romance aspect of this story, but I did enjoy the mystery piece. The romance just fell flat for me.

All that said, I do enjoy Josh Lanyon's stories and I recommend this one too.

Chilling and atmospheric thriller with a bunch of great characters. I love Rob and Adam.

tell me why im surprised that i genuinely liked this .

Like a 3.3 for me. It started to pick up for me mid book and got progressively better. The characters especially Rob had to grow on me.....I dont think I liked him any better though at the end of the story than I did in the beginning. Adam was wonderful though.
