I just loved this book. So much. The writing was so good and addicting. The beginning sets the dark and mysterious mood and scenery so perfectly. I loved the complexity of the characters, I feel like none of them were dull, there was always more to them in some way.
Don't have much more to say, this was great.
The only thing that was a bit off for me was the dragon stuff. Like I just didn't get why that was necessary. When Roscille realized Lisander is no normal human being, I was so excited to find out what is going on. But this was a letdown and just a bit weird.

I went in with no knowledge of the book and thinking it would be closer to the source material. This is more like magic really does exist and Lady Macbeth is actually 17 AU. I didn’t love that she was still a child because she very much acts surprised when her actions have consequences to others that aren’t just her. I’m not a fan of her choices and their actions not being intentional until the last chapter of Act 4.

Once I realized kind of what the book was it was fun, but do not go into reading this book thinking it’s going to be remotely similar to the original work

Gonna be honest, I only listened to this because it had no wait on libby. Def would not have had the patience to read it if i had a hard copy. The audiobook was fun because of all the scottish accents lol. This took a lot of creative liberties with the OG Macbeth so I can see why some people would dislike it for that reason. Honestly for someone who is supposed to be smart she does a lot of dumb shit.

A tale of madness begetting madness, that leads to freedom or ruin. The added touches of forbidden romance and feminist ideology creates a modern take on a classic play.

I would recommend reading a summary of Macbeth but it’s not necessary to have read the play beforehand.
