I was not expecting to like this book at all from just reading the blurb I knew it wasn’t ‘my kinda book’. But janey mac - HOW I WAS WRONG. The first few chapters were a bit of a drag but since everyone was recommending this book to me I just had to stick with it and I’m really glad I did. Would I have loved it so much if Evelyn had was heterosexual? Probably not - and I’m definitely biased when it comes to queer representation and story lines. It’s a real page turner and I think anyone who has ever been told they have to be someone else just to fit in will enjoy it.
