I truly enjoyed this somewhat cerebral yet emotional and tender romance. We are introduced to two deeply sympathetic bantering book lovers - an English teacher struggling with grief, and an author dealing with writers block and imposter syndrome - fighting their attraction but drawn together despite fear and trust issues.
I look forward to read more from this author.

I was so so impressed by this book! I devoured it, it had me grinning like a fool the whole time. It captured so much ordinary magic of real life and I just loved it. I especially love how much the author was able to incorporate grief without it being overwhelming or all consuming. I felt like I learned something, reading this book.

I also loved loved loved the female friendship in this book. It was so damn good.

The little tingles I got reading about Mac’s reservation but also desire to fall for Daniel. I knew he was sketchy from him semi-lying as a first impression and just scurrying around certain topics. Personally, I would say red flag and cut my losses. However, thankfully Mac is not me and was brave enough to make a hopeless romantic’s dream become a reality.

Honestly, I loved everything but the title. I appreciate the pun but this book was so much deeper than the normal tropes.
