5 out of 5 stars

The Write Place is a very fun romantic comedy that follows the strangers to lovers and forced proximity tropes. This story follows the MC, Mackenzie (Mac) Millcrest who is a high school English teacher, and her relationship with the world-famous author Daniel Evans. Daniel is in town for 6 weeks to shadow Miss Mac and gain intel for the new book he is hoping to write. For reasons, Mac feels she isn’t ready nor interested in a romantic relationship, but then Evans comes along, and Mac can’t seem to get away from him.

I hardly give books 5 stars, but I absolutely loved reading The Write Place; it deserves all 5 stars in my opinion. This process of reading this book felt different from other romance books I have read. It was easy. I’m not sure if that makes sense—but the story just flowed so smoothly. For me, this book had the right amount of humor, spice, and realism in it. Plus, Evans’ character is so amazing and sweet (I’m adding him to my book bf list). There were two bonus chapters written from his POV and I absolutely adored them. Overall, If I had had the time, I probably would have read this book in one day; it was so good! I really enjoy this author’s writing style! And I can’t wait to read the sequel following Mac’s best friend in the summer!

P.S. I forgot to mention, but there is only one bed

The author adds all trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, before the story starts. I found this to be very thoughtful and it would be nice to see more writers do this in the future. Check the triggers before reading the book 🤍 I didn’t think anything was too over-the-top, but I also know that my experiences are not the same as everyone’s.
