Allie Samberts’ The Write Place holds a special place in my heart. This romcom is filled with all things literature lovers adore with a side of Midwestern comfort. Sambert’s writing made me feel cozy and want to cuddle up with my coffee while I immerse myself in Daniel and Mac’s love story.
The butterflies this book gave me is a feeling I’ll treasure for awhile. The Pride & Prejudice references, as well as scenes from a high school English class made me yearn to be back in a classroom discussing books. Living in a Chicago suburb myself, I enjoyed seeing Leade Park come to life and seeing aspects of my own suburb in the story. Cannot wait to read the next installment, The Write Time this summer!

Loved this little gem. I have a soft spot for teachers.
The Write Place is a cute, quick, and heart warming rom-com. The characters were fun to spend time with and I wanted them to find their happy ending. It is a story about a teacher, Mac, and writer, Daniel Evans, and how their lives collide when Daniel spends 6 weeks watching Mac in her classroom as research for his new book. It was fun to watch these two fall in love and overcome the obstacles. This book demonstrates the passion and depth of love that many teachers possess for their students and their profession. I adored the friendship between Mac and Jenny; Jenny always had Mac's back. I'm excited to move onto Jenny's story.

so well written and I’m an instant sucker for any bookish romcom
I received an e-book for an honest review and I can truly say this was the light, sweet romance book I was needing. I’m not sure I’d say it was a comedy, at times it felt very tender and almost sad but the build up of the romance was pitched perfectly. Mac is a high school English teacher in a Chicago suburb and one Friday night she meets Evan at the local dive bar. They go outside to escape the terrible music and end up talking books. This was possibly the best meet-cute for a teacher book worm ever! The way Mac described not having one favourite book really resounded with me. After a swoon worth kiss they go their separate ways, only to find that he will be shadowing her at work for the next six weeks to help him write his next novel… The pace wasn’t high and I’d spotted the break up point early on but this didn’t stop me enjoying the story and rooting for Mac and Daniel (he’d used a fake name) all the way through. While I’m not a secondary/high school teacher, Allie Samberts has captured something about the teaching profession that was just lovely. A great book to read before I head back to school next week.
wow this was super super cute!! i absolutely loved daniel, mac, and jenny so so much. i loved the entire concept of this book and thought it was really well written. sometimes i really hate short books but this was a PERFECT length and managed to make me feel so many emotions in only 200 something pages. so excited to read the write time next!
Super cute, sweet romance, with some depth, but mostly good fluff, a little angst, and some nice pining. I loved the different literary references, the classroom settings, and the banter. A quick, entertaining read.
This was a very cute book! I loved the development of the relationship between Daniel and Mac. I did think that it went on a little longer than necessary and was honestly a little more annoyed about the 3rd act break up than anything else. Even though I could definitely see it coming.
But, the story itself was very cute, I enjoyed the characters so I'd give it a solid 3.5!

I freaking loved this book!!!!
The chemistry between Mac and Daniel was so sweet and refreshing! The effect they had on each other was absolutely beautiful. I also adored how they interacted with the students it was precious.
Another bonus was Mac and Jenny’s friendship. It felt really authentic, with a balance between tough love and telling someone what they need to hear to get them through a difficult moment.
The only thing missing was dual POV. I’d have loved to get some scenes in Daniel’s perspective.
This was just a sweet, tender love story that was still compelling and meaningful. Truly well done! I can’t wait to get the paperback to add to my collection.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
