I recieved this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Write Place is such a lovely, slow burn romance. There is so much to love about this novel, with characters that felt realistic, intelligent and witty banter, and a build up that is so worth the wait to get there. A few of the things I loved the most:

- Mac and her best friend Jenny talk like I talk with my girlfriends. The friendship is just as central to the story as the romance, and felt familiar in the best ways.
- The scene in the coffeeshop... This is one of many moments like this, but I loved how this scene demonstrates the growing depth of relationship between the characters. Also who doesn't love coffee and books and snuggling up in a bookstore to read quietly with someone you love?! It was just a quiet, beautiful scene.
- Mac EATS. Like a real person. It's amazing how often food is left out of romance novels when so much of courtship and life in general revolves around shared meals. I love that she has an appetite.
- Daniel, of course. He is handsome, vulnerable, and definitely sexy.
- The environment.. I don't believe I've ever read a romance that takes place inside of a school/from a teacher's POV, which makes The Write Place stand out on it's own aside from all the fantasy jobs many romance MCs have.
- Consent is sexy! That's all I'm going to say on that.

I could go on and on. If you are into romance novels, this is a definite yes for you. If romance isn't usually your genre, The Write Place would be a great introduction. Highly recommended!

A true 4.5 book to me. It’s been better than many I have read, but there are some smaller things I struggle to look past.

As an English teacher, it felt necessary to read a book about my calling. I identify very much with Mac as a book lover and teacher. Her passion for her job and the way she sees teaching as opportunity, not punishment, is 100% how I feel about my job. I LOVE what I do, and being able to see the accurate representations of overworked, under appreciated teacher WITHOUT disparaging the profession was fabulous. Like Abbot Elementary, this book captured the strife, triumph, and truth of teaching in a humorous, loving way. The romance storyline was great. I honestly loved that it didn’t switch perspectives like many do, and maybe it’s just me, but honest to goodness the lack of spice in the book is GREAT. The book has tension and pivots, but not in a way that would make me feel uncomfortable recommending this book to my students (and like Mac, I also teach juniors and seniors.)

The only gripe I have with the storyline is how quickly it all ended. The storyline had meta-discussion on endings and the finality of things, and while I don’t like all things answered in the end (the more open the better), it just felt like the last 10% flew through time and glossed over too much to wrap up. Also, if the author truly only has 25 students a class, I’m jealous!! Haha.

The Write Place is my first by Allie Samberts but definitely won't be my last. The Write Place was SO relatable as an ex teacher.

Mac is a local high school English teacher with an issue at hand: the popular writer shadowing her class for inspiration these next 6 weeks. Tom is in the suburbs trying to find the spark needed to finish his novel. Mac can deal with another body in her classroom, he can be just a platonic friend. But as weeks progress, Mac can't help thinking he may actually br the inspiration she wasn't even looking for.

The Write Place had me laughing, nodding my head and getting a bit emotional while listening. The little twists and turns throughout had me on the edge wanting to hear how Mac and Tom's story played out. When the spice hits it hits and in my head I said FINALLY! But the lead up is worth it and honestly written with purpose. I adore the friend group- Ben and Lucy- and am delighted to know their story is next. Also, THANK YOU Allie for making Tom not a Cubs fan.

Thank you Allie for sending me a listening copy and allowing me into your writing world. Meg Carver brings Mac's journey to life in a beautiful way. While I have had conversations with Allie, that in no way influences my thoughts or opinions.

I don’t even know if I loved this book all that much, I was just pumped that it was a pretty accurate description of teaching. At least of what I see in a classroom.

I loved this book! I thought it was just going to be a fast read but it was so much more. The writing was so good, I will always love a book about people who love books and words.

I just finished reading bookstacentral’s November Indie Author Book Club pick, The Write Place by Allie Samberts! If you’re a fan of books about books, teaching, writing, bffs, and of course, romance, please go ahead and add The Write Place to your tbr!

Can I just say that I loved the strong, positive female friendship featured in The Write Place? Seriously, Jenny and Mac’s friendship is #squadgoals. These ladies are so supportive of each other, which is refreshing to read about when so many books pit female characters against one another. I absolutely cannot wait to read Jenny’s story in the next installment!

Now, let’s talk about Daniel Evans 😍! A hot guy that writes award winning books?!?! Say no more because I’m SOLD! 🤣. I absolutely adored their meet cute and the electric spark between him and Mac (the FMC) was on point. Daniel also had a ton of character growth on the page, was so satisfying to read.

Last, but certainly not least, is the charming English teacher, Mac. Mac is one of those inspirational teachers that everyone (even the reader), can’t help but adore. It was such a joy to read about the positive changes she was making in the lives of her students. The slow burn romance between her and Daniel wasn’t bad either. 😉🔥

In the Pages, you will find:

📖A talented English teacher
👨‍💻A famous writer

This was a cute "insta" love story.
I didn't really connect to any of the characters and I didn't like the MMC because even though it does explain why he made certain decisions I still couldn't get passed him not telling her about his personal life, ONLY because he was so adamant on getting her to fall for him so I feel like the things he didn't say was a tad important.
It was just lie after lie and that didn't sit right with me.

I did really enjoy the teacher and students relationship, they were so respectful and genuinely liked her as a teacher. I thought it was a great change up from the negativity in the school system now.
