Not Christie's best, but also far from her worst. Everything fits together logically, but the big reveal relies a little too heavily on guess work instead of hard facts, thus the three star rating. If you're looking to try out Christie for the first time, I'd go with a different book (perhaps [b:Death on the Nile|131359|Death on the Nile (Hercule Poirot, #18)|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1486837149l/131359._SY75_.jpg|3038762] or [b:The Mysterious Affair at Styles|52843028|The Mysterious Affair at Styles (Hercule Poirot, #1)|Agatha Christie|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1585632445l/52843028._SY75_.jpg|3366260]), but if you're just reading through her works, then I'd say give it a go.

Unsurprisingly, many of Christie's books have elements that reflect the attitudes of her time. Attitudes that modern readers may find upsetting or just annoying. This book is largely free of those elements, but I will warn that it has moments where it leans heavily on old fashion gender roles and uses words like "manish hands" to describe a woman with larger hands. Do with that what you will.

Imho this is one of the weaker reveals but I like the cast of characters.

Christie is a master. Who else can explain so deftly all the little clues littered through the novel so everything fits so neatly? I like the way she uses flawed persons as characters but still treats them with respect. Poirot is also a protagonist you love to follow down the rabbit hole.

fun beach read vibes- not a very good mystery tho

Wowowowowowowowowoow, znowu nie zgadłam zakończenia, 6:0 panie Poirot
