Finishing up the CC series took much longer than I initially anticipated. The first book was so good, the second was good but could have been better, and the third would be ranked right behind the first. This one was slow for a more than necessary amount of the book, but obviously, I knew SJM would have me crying with the ending. It's crazy to think I've now read all of her books, all of ACOTAR, CC, and TOG. I love the ending of House of Flame and Shadow and the crossover with ACOTAR was AMAZING, so I desperately need the next books in that series to be published NOW. Overall, I liked CC and loved the characters but I am relieved a bit that I'm now free of the grasp SJM universe had on me.

I know a lot of people didn’t like this book but honestly I loved it so much. I love these characters and this world and I couldn’t get enough and I’m so sad it’s over. I miss them already. I would have liked to have seen more of the crossover characters but I do like that the crossover served a purpose. I loved the pace of this book and the end had me shook chapter after chapter after chapter. A banger for sure.
tbh this is a hard book to write a review for. was it a fun read? yes! did i love the ending? not so much lolll i felt like the last like 250 pages was pretty rushed and meant to piece everything together without making the book a lot longer. i didn’t mind the different character povs but some of the story lines that were created just didn’t really make sense! i’m glad i finally finished this series and im wondering if sjm will bring bryce, hunt, and her friends back to life through the world of acotar!

3.5 ⭐️. It was so difficult for me to fully get into this book but the last 300 pages had me hooked. There were a lot of things that frankly just didn’t make sense in the ending but everyone is happy so I’m happy !
Omg I finally finished it holy shiiiiiiit.
Pretty disappointing overall, given how much I loved HOEAB. SJM needs to get a thesaurus cuz I’m sick of everyone’s corners of their mouths quirking up! And there were way too many lucky coincidences propelling the story forward. It was frustrating how everything relied on pure luck. And Bryce really pissed me off in this book, she was worse than Danika with her lack of communication. Ithan and Tharion and Ruhn all did reeeeeaaaally dumb shit, and there was so much meandering and repetitive plot points.
But there were a few parts that I really loved, hence the 3 stars. The last 2 pages were great.
Honestly I just wanted more Jelly Jubilee and otter messengers and chocolate croissants and fire sprites watching soap operas. They’re my favorite thing about the CC series.
