Whit & Caleb. Roommates to lovers with a sexual awakening for Caleb. I really liked this book and how easily Caleb fell into it with whit. I liked seeing Sem as Caleb’s cousin and meeting magnus after already having read Max’s book. I think that whit’s family drama and his whole deal could’ve been have been more detailed or drawn out. The whole third act breakup thing happened and resolved too quickly for my pleasure. But overall I still really liked the book

dnf at 30% i’ve read all the rave about it but it just wasn’t good, it didn’t make any sense, the characters had no personality and caleb was just clueless of everything around him. stopped reading because it felt rushed and there was no flavour or personality to it

Cora Rose is a new to me author and definitely one that I'll check out their other stories, since this was a really entertaining one.

Yes there were some vagueness (plot holes) when it came to Whit's past, yes Caleb was repeating a lot on how he felt like that only for Whit and no one but Whit, BUT I do have a weak spot and fondness for characters like Caleb.

I can't help but love how they get stuck in a problem, work it out within themselves and just plow through everything, never letting anything deter them, especially when they have an amazing family to support them. Really Caleb's family is the best and can't wait to dive into the other stories since from what I've seen they are even better than this one.

Suspending disbelief yall for sure, and I'm a difficult customer when it comes in doing that, but listening to the story helped, not only because of the amazing narrators, but I'm not the most attentive listener. I mean who hasn't gotten lost doing something and not listening? Anyways not a story to take seriously but just to have fun for a time.

Review:
This is not my first Cora Rosa book, but I am surprised this is her debut story, it was so good! From almost the start, I absolutely loved Caleb, his ridiculous puppy energy and slightly unhinged behaviour with his cousins. The fact his was a complete cuddle slut was what completely sold me on him and this story - it was done so well, so often, and I just melted every time he melted in Whit's arms. Whit took a lot longer to come around for me. I didn't dislike him, but we really know so little about him for so long. We did get his POV a few times, which I wasn't expecting, and I enjoyed what it brought to the story, but I am also so excited for the companion book to this, Caleb, where we will follow Whit.

The literal only reason I shaved off a quarter star from this book was that the 3ABU resolution was the end of the story, and not a little before the end. I always want (need) to have those kinds of things resolved, and then just a little bit more where we can see them moving forward, before the epilogue. I also wanted a little bit more explanation and grovelling on Whit's part, but that's fine. I absolutely loved their little thing, going from fake boyfriends after Whit took care of Caleb when he got really sick, to fake fiances when Caleb was hospitalised. I absolutely eat up the I'm-his-fiance-so-I-can-see-him-in-hospital trope, I don't care if it's cliche, I will eat it up always. I am so silly and didn't realise that Magnus and Maggie, the MC in the next story, are the same person, and I am so excited the little firecracker gets his own story with the bizarre Sem. I am really looking forward to the rest of the series too, and hopefully Cora will become an auto-buy if I love all her other stories as much as I loved this one!
