Grisham is not for me. A thriller involving a lawyer is not what I look for in a legal thriller. Maybe The Firm would have gotten into legal intricacies further into the story but I just got tired of waiting.

The book is better than the movie

So good and incredibly well written! And very fun that Joe had read it so we could talk about it

3.5 stars

Re-read of a book I really liked in high school. The plot remains top notch but hoo boy, the language/writing has not held up. Guess that’s the early 90s for you.

This book was in a box with a handwritten note "Free Books!" outside of my apartment. So, I took it. That, combined with the fact that I'm starting my third year of law school in three days, seemed to suggest that I might as well read it. It's a mass paperback type book. The firm is connected to the mob, and the new associate gets caught in the middle. There were parts when I didn't want to put it down, but it's not exactly a thought provoking piece.

Quite fantastical.
fast-paced

It's funny but I can't remember what it is in particular I liked about this book. I read it long before the movie was released. I remember loving the ending so that means a lot to me.
slow-paced

Slow. Shows it's age with character style and objectification of woman.
