Sweethand was such a fun and engaging read! From the very first page, I was hooked by the vibrant setting of Trinidad, the enemies-to-lovers tension, and the delicious baking descriptions that had me craving sweets the entire time.
Cherisse and Keiran’s chemistry was undeniable. Their dynamic was fiery and full of witty banter, which made their journey from reluctant acquaintances to something more feel natural and rewarding. Cherisse is passionate, independent, and deeply dedicated to her craft as a pastry chef, while Keiran, a talented musician, has his own struggles with public perception. Watching them clash, challenge each other, and eventually open up was a joy to read.
I also loved the side characters, especially Cherisse’s close-knit friend group and family. Their interactions added so much depth and humor to the story. The wedding setting was the perfect backdrop for all the drama, romance, and growth that unfolded.

Really cute (and sweet!) romance, I loved the rep in this book with a male lead being bisexuel (which is not that frequent), and other secondary queer characters. Loved the relationship that built between the MC, but also the friendships around them!
It was a light and warm read, perfect for the Summer

The book was overall fine, but whenever I put it down, I didn't have a great drive to pick it up again. The first third was my favorite, where there was some extended periods of hate before the love (whcih is sorely lacking in so-called 'hate-to-love romances) but the middle kind of dragged. Also not enough wedding vibes

A solid four star book until the last hour. The storyline felt rushed and I feel like the characters needed more time to comeback together.
4.5 stars rounded down
Man, this book was exactly what I needed in my life- some sweetness. This was a very cute book. My only qualm with it was the miscommunication trope popping in about 50 pages from the end, but other than that, BRAVO AUTHOR. I can't wait for the next one. I love this cover too it just scratches something in my brain.

4.5 - this was fantastic, definitely recommend. The conflict could’ve been resolved with one sentence, and having it wrap up in the last two chapters did end the book on a low note for me which kept it from a full 5. I loved the inclusion of a bi love interest, the forced proximity brought on by the two MCs being the maid of honor and best man in a wedding, the enemies (or really avoiders) to lovers. Everything just hit right. I will definitely be picking up the next in this series soon!!
I thought this one was cute. I wasn't the biggest fan and how the FMC treated the MMC at times but overall, this was a fun forced proximity enemies to lovers read with some fun banter and some steam thrown in.
First of all, look at that cute cover!!
Cherisse and Keiran don’t like each other, and unfortunately, they have to attend the same wedding of Keiran’s best friend and Cherisse's sister. As maid of honor and best man!! Have I piqued your interest already? Will they be able to put their differences aside and do this for their loved ones?
The characters in this one were very fun. Cherisse owns a bakery and Keiran is in the music business. I always love when authors delve deeper into the individual characters to let us learn more about them before blasting us with the romance, like their basic likes and dislikes. We also get some lines discussing their past experiences and how that has made them into who they are today. They both have these perceptions of each other due to bad encounters. The drama between them was really there and some of their petty behaviors had me cracking up. Peltier does a great job in the classic enemies to lovers transition. This was funny, sexy, and so sweet, and I loved the really positive female friendships!! There's a second book coming out so I’m looking forward to catching my hands on that.

As a romance lover it was very cute. As a Trini, big up my country and I’m proud of my twin island.
I went into this book blindly and I’m not a huge fan of ebonies to lovers. I also greatly dislike a third act breakup that could’ve been easily avoided with *communication* 🙄 (I also felt like Cherisse overreacted … it was not that serious)
I enjoyed the characters and the story nonetheless. Super easy, light read for a relaxing time. 10/10 would read again.
