Second Read: It's perhaps more terrifying the second time around, but it also has one of the most detailed and accurate depictions of grief that I've read. I glossed over that detail on my first read. I'm leaving Pet Sematary reminded of how precious each day is and how easily things can take a horrible turn. It's a great story, but I can't deal such emotional damage to myself again lol, so I doubt I'll read it again.
First Read: I've never been so terrified, invested, and disgusted while reading. Stephen King takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, ranging from the heights of joy to deep, dark horror. I can't recommend this book enough; it has rekindled a love for reading that I've been lacking recently and frankly, it has changed the way I look at life and has given me a deeper appreciation for my relationships.

So it was a good book. I really liked the start and their introduction. I also really liked the progress and the middle. It was like getting to see the family in its daily life. However, I do think there were a bit too many unnecessary details. Some parts were actually very scary, like a lingering fear as if someone was watching you. Unfortunately, I didn't like the ending very much. I see where the author was going with it but couldn't pull it through. It felt like a movie that ran out of budget by the end.

Dark. Heavy. Stunning.
A good, but disturbing, modern tragedy that deals heavily on the topics of death and grief; delving deeply into the psyche of a protagonist as he suffers through both of these. Biggest issues I had with the book was that most of the "action", so to speak, seemed to only happen in the last %10 of the book. although I do appreciate the intense character development in the first section, there were parts of the book that felt rather pointless. Nonetheless, I feel that overall it was a great horror and definitely not a book that you will want to speed through if you wish to keep your sanity. I would give it 3 and 1/2 stars if I could so I will give it 3 stars.
