I devoured this adorable novel in less than two days and I’m genuinely not that fast of a reader, I was just obsessed. And honestly I usually don’t enjoy romance novels but this one was just so stinking cute. Absolutely recommend to anyone in need of some good sapphic smut. Only two things I was disappointed with really. First, the book talks quite a bit about inclusivity and yet as far as I could understand, every single one of the main characters in this book were white. Literally the only people of color were either side characters or the subjects of Delilah’s art, and I feel like I could take an entire essay to unpack that…Anyways the second thing is gonna seem very silly compared to that, but I was a tiny bit disappointed that this was sold to me as a “bookstore romance” but there are only two whole scenes inside the bookstore. That’s all to say I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it, but was confused by the lack of POC.

my kingdom for a sapphic romance that doesn’t underwhelm me

there were moments i genuinely liked (main pros: Delilah’s POV, the audiobook narrator’s voice acting for Delilah, generally well-written sex scenes, good portrayal of young single mom with a compelling-not-annoying child character) but overall, this was a disappointing read (main cons: the narrator’s voice acting for Claire, constantly referring to characters by their full names (a specific ick of mine that so many romances these days are doing!!! why!), spencer’s characterization being just an irritating cartoon villain, literal high school bully characters who are theoretically redeemed by the novel’s end but they don’t really do anything to deserve said redemption, random virtue signaling about how the MCs care about/include nonbinary people and nonwhite people while every single character in the novel is cis and white)

but i think my opinion of the book can be summed up in the fact that i listened to the last third of it on a plane and i kept falling asleep—then waking up and tuning in for about 10 minutes before falling back asleep for another 20–and i had no desire to go back and listen to the entire resolution of the novel. because the bits i did get were kind of enough for me. which is kind of sad, but!

This book was a great mix of serious, emotional, funny, and light-hearted. I really enjoyed it! It was sexy and fun, but it still took the emotions and the protagonist's complex pasts into account.  I loved that one protagonist had a kid and that Ruby, that kid wasn't left out of the relationship. I want Deliah to be my stepmom, LOL. Overall a good book!

This was a fun and quick read. Great steam and I enjoyed the plot and all the photography references. This book had a lot about Astrid for her not being an MC but I suppose that’s setting her up as one of the MCs in the next one. There were a couple of times in the book where the author described a character as white, and when this first happened I thought there would be an introduction of character(s) of other races… but then all the characters were white. That was a little odd. I’m not sure what’s better when an author makes all their characters white - letting the reader assume race or describing everyone’s race, but what would be best is including racial diversity. I did appreciate the bi and lesbian representation.

I loved this book! I fell in love with Delilah only 60 pages in and couldn’t get enough of her. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cute sapphic romance.

I absolutely adored this book! Honestly, it was the perfect lazy Sunday read. I found myself completely lost in this book. I loved Delilah and Claire’s relationship from the start, and Astrid/Iris/Claire’s friendship was so lovely as well!

Spencer was such a dick and so was Josh, but he redeemed himself at the end so I’ll let him off.

I loved how the book wrapped up and I’m looking forward to reading about Astrid in the next one!
