I discovered this author one night while mindlessly scrolling #BookTok, so I scurried over to KU and found her book.

What I liked:
-The individual characters were really great. When the story focused on each MC, I found myself wanting to know more about them.
-The harpie family history, that was fascinating.

What I had a tough time with:
-There was a little too much going on at first and I was confused with the world building.
-It's a rh, pnr, with magic, sulkies, witches, fae, harpies, demons, and werewolves. I could have missed a few.
-I would have liked to have seen much more character development in this story, and a deeper connection between each of the characters rather than so much sex.

I needed more of a set up before
Spoiler Asa fingered her in front of Greg. They literally JUST met and her wing is broken and all of a sudden he's got his hand down her pants? I don't mind when things move quickly, but this was crazy fast.
I felt like Asa was making a point, rather than trying to please her. Sexual manipulation sucks.

It also rubbed me the wrong way that Asa is such an ass to Greg. I get the whole broken heart thing, but he seemed like he already had the answers to the triad and could have reached out to Greg at any point in the past few months and told him what he suspected. Was it pride, was he too alpha to admit that someone left him?

Maybe I'm used to more traditional pnr, but I enjoy my possessive, alpha, no-one-but-touches-my-mate kinda werewolf.

I enjoyed how the events started one way and then smashed through in another direction I should've seen coming but how it happened was a fun surprise.
SpoilerI had some foreknowledge after reading "Stalked by the Kraken," so I knew Zeph's anger was coming. Still, I did not expect Zeph to land on Asa's balcony and Asa to develop feelings for her after Greg went all "mate" on her. I hunted for my mental popcorn fast after that "oh shit" moment.

It's been a while since I've read through monster/mythical creatures, but the harpy lore reminded me of what I thought I knew, though with its own twist for the story. The spice was good, as was the HEA, and the characters were entertaining. It's a good book if you're looking for something short with a few emotional tugs and a sweet HEA.

Some important notes that bear mentioning: first, reviews are highly subjective, including mine. My opinion is meant to give an overview of what I saw/felt when I read it (and how it may or may not have made my brain explode). What I see might not be what you see, and what I like (or don't) might not be what you enjoy, which is just fine. My advice to anyone looking into a book? Read the premise, and if it interests you enough, give it a chance and form your own opinion.

Tender and Spicy

New relationships are rough, but relationships between three supernatural beings are even more difficult to navigate.

I've never been on a poly relationship, but I imagine jealousy is common at times? How do you find your identity in the polysphere? How do you ensure that everyone's needs are met? Being with one person at a time is hard enough for me. I assume good communication is necessary?

This book is all about addressing insecurities and making a poly mmf relationship work and it felt both practical and sweet. I found myself tearing up a little at times, just for the aching all three characters feel for each other. It was all spicy with some tenderness thrown in and I loved it.

I'm excited to read the next book and more of this author's work. This was only her second book, I believe, and it was great.

I thought I didn’t want to read this book because it’s poly. However, after reading other books with sexy found family, I gave it a try! I really love these three people. Lillian Lark does a great job with providing a fairly quick start to the relationship and enough depth with various emotions and issues. Add to that we got some adventure and it was a joy. Now I want to read the book after this all over again.
