I never thought I’d love a surfer romance but here I am! I loved this book so much! It was heartbreakingly beautiful and I especially loved the atmospheric summer vibes!
Surfing to Finn is like the air he breathes. He hears about the legendary Leviathans beach and learns of its dark past. Despite that, Finn makes it his mission to conquer Leviathan’s gnarly 25’ swells, even if it will cost him his life.
In order to prepare, Finn goes out and seeks a coach. He meets Riddick and convinces him to coach him. Soon their relationship turns into something more than teacher and student; and thus their love story begins.
I really loved this unique story. It’s a relatively easy and light read but it still got me in my feels! Nevertheless, I thought it was the perfect summer read! Loved Finn and Riddick together so much! There was so much emotion, tension, and passion!
My review is probably not doing the book justice so I’ll just implore you to read CHASING RIDDICK! 4.5⭐️
Thank you so much, Alex, for the generous #gifted book! All opinions are my own. 💕
5 stars, 10 stars even. I'm not crying, you're crying!
Chasing Riddick is such a quick, emotional read and I was not prepared to be ugly sobbing tonight, but here I am and I'm not even mad about it. I love the depth of these characters and their journey over a few months timespan. There's love, hate, grief, loss, friendship, mystery, intrigue, action, and more. I'm honestly so glad I gave this one a read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

4.5/5 🌟
I am emotionally unwell. Chasing Riddick ripped my heart straight out of my chest, stomped on it a little, and then gently patched it back together with tenderness, longing, and so much aching love. I cried. I swooned. I may never recover.
This book had age gap, grumpy/sunshine, emotional damage, and a friendship so pure (hi, Turtle 🐢) it nearly broke me. Riddick and Finn? That push and pull? That tension?? Absolutely electric. But Turtle… he might’ve quietly stolen the whole show. The way he knew what Finn needed without question, without judgment—I’ll be thinking about that kind of friendship forever.
It had just the right balance of angst, spice, flirting, and raw, aching vulnerability. The kind of story that grabs you and won’t let go. The kind where you feel everything.
I’m now on a mission to read everything Alexandra writes. If you love deep feels, perfectly messy men, and romance that hurts so good, this one’s for you.

Oh, my freaking heart! This book literally destroyed me, but in the best way! If a book has the ability to absolutely shred my heart and mend it, then I'd say it's a phenomenal read. 1000/10 stars. Finn and his bestfriend Turtle are a total vibe. They are just living life the best they can. Finn is such a ball of sunshine, even though he has so much trauma in his life. Riddick is the exact opposite of Finn. He is such a grumpy grump. All for good reason. Him and Finn are like fire and ice, but they are perfect for each other. Their love is absolutely beautiful. This is definitely a book that will forever be etched into my soul. I'll forever recommend it!

Chasing Riddick is a standalone story by author Alexandra St Pierre. Here’s what you can expect from Finn and Riddick:
🌊 MM romance
🌊 First person dual point of view
🌊 Unconventional happily ever after
🌊 Open door spice
🌊 Age gap
🌊 Mentor/mentee
🌊 Grumpy/sunshine
🌊 Surfing
🌊 Praise
Ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings and triggers may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading. Explicit scene with implied/dubious consent; somnophilia; death of a loved one; fist fights/hand-to-hand violence.
Chasing Riddick is a unique and highly emotional story. Finn and Riddick are characters with a story I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. I recommend going into this book as blindly as you are comfortable with because it really adds an element of intrigue to the plot. The spice in this book was fantastic, and I loved how the grumpy Riddick softened for the vibrant Finn. The praise was absolutely delicious.
I did find this book was getting very hyped on social media, between the unique story elements and extremely emotional final 20 percent of the book. Because of that, I almost felt like I had a hard time getting into things. Once the book hits about 60 percent, I found I had a much more difficult time putting it down. And yes, it absolutely hit me right in the feels. I’m not a big crier when reading, but this one had me in tears. Although the happily ever after is unconventional in today’s romance landscape, it’s perfect for the plotline of this story. I also loved Turtle as a side character, and his friendship with Finn and their amazing adventures in Shelly just added to the surfer vibes.
Because the StoryGraph has a spoiler feature, I can discuss the last 40 percent of the story safely! Please proceed at your own risk.
Although the ending is unconventional, it’s perfect. This story is an amazing commentary on grief and fate, and I’d recommend it if you’re in the mood for something very emotional and beautiful. Great job hitting us right in the feels Alexandra!
I received an advanced review copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this, will come back and finish review when I've pulled myself together !

Ok - I'm back. This book literally came out of nowhere for me, I love ARC reads and had signed up and then got busy with life. Literally all I knew was it was mm and there was surfing. I am so glad I went into this so blind, as it made it wven better !
Finn and Riddick meet when Finn and his bestie surfing buddy move to California to surf Leviathan, a secret spot with huge waves which locals have tried to keep quiet after a local surfer died there. Finn buys a shack on the beach and Riddick reluctantly agrees to train him to ride Leviathan.
Their relationship is so sweet once Riddick lets himself be with Finn and both of them have great friends as supporting characters.
I have not cried in a book in a while, but this one definitely did me in and I was a sobbing mess. But such a good read, great spice, please read it and don't read any spoilers!

Wow. This book. I finished a little bit ago but couldn't get it all aligned in my head to write the review until now. This book will be in my head for a while.
Finn and his best friend Turtle decided to go cross country and surf the waves of California. Finn is determined to surf the Leviathan's, a small stretch of beach with the most intense and deadly waves. The residents of Star Cove do not look fondly on that plan, as the Leviathan's have their name for a reason, and one of the townspeople was killed while surfing them.
But Finn is an adrenaline junkie and is determined. When he runs into Riddick, a gruff surfer who offers to train Finn to have at least a chance on the waves there, Finn accepts. Riddick and Finn hit it off immediately and the angst between them is amazing.
Finn finally wins Riddick over and their relationship grows and flourishes. Even though Finn is getting stronger and more prepared for the Leviathan's, Riddick, Turtle and the other townspeople are still very apprehensive.
The characters in this story are truly well done. The writing and storytelling is fantastic. I wasn't sure how I felt about the book until I really sat back and thought about it. It is truly thought provoking and gut wrenching. It definitely won me over. I highly recommend it.
