An interesting, and sometimes bizarre, high fantasy story. Certainly much different than most fantasy I had read previously, though it had clear and defined connections to earlier fantasy such as ERB, I could almost feel John Carter's blood at times flowing through Elric's veins. I waited far too long to read this one, considered one of THE fantasy books.

The music playing behind was too much at times but certainly set a mood. Cool sorcery and ideas, an evil people with a leader who doesn't want to be evil with a sword that sustains him but also wants and needs him to kill. The story is sparse and has lots of big jumps that leaves me to do a lot of imagining which was pretty cool but also frustrating.

A little hurried...... For all of Moorcock's claim of depth.... well.... Would I be truly horrid if I said it was no LoTR?
Un bon punt de partida de les històries d'Elric. Un punt estereotipic però la història es un excés d'imaginació i aventures. La màgia desborda per tots els capítols. Si ets un fan de la fantasia, aquesta saga es fundacional per al gènere modern.
