OK for a story involving an incubus this was surprisingly so tender. I loved the relationship between the fmc and the mmc and how it developed. And speaking of the mmc, I adored him, he was just such a green flag and the way he adored the fmc and loved her so much but was willing to put his feelings to the side for her. As for the fmc, she was fantastic. Loved that while she was powerful and extremely capable, she never strayed into romantasy sassy badass fmc territory. The two of them were just such amazing characters who worked so well with each other. I really liked how this book dealt with the concept of a Soul bond. Like the two were intrinsically bonded to each other but at the same time they still had to work through this new connection and seeing them work through it and learn to love each other was just what really made this book for me.

As for the worldbuilding and story, everything was just as good and even better than the previous book in this series. My one thing is that I felt a little too small brain for some parts in this book and had to reread some parts to see what was going on.

I understand how the backstory of "something bad happened" was important to the story, but it felt like there was no actual explanation of wtf happened and that drove me a little nuts. Like either keep it mysterious or tell us what happened instead of a rambling mismash with no content.
