A well done second chance romance between childhood bffs that had a pretty big miscommunication. The MMC and the FMC are both hurt humans who work together through their problems to become a pretty awesome couple.

I appreciate that the approach regarding the MMC in this book was very unique from the previous two in the series. Each has also presented a unique relationship situation, rather than rehashing the same alpha/player stuff.

While readability wasn't bad, I didn't really get sucked into the story either. Not sure why. I was curious to know what happens, but I was never emotionally invested in the characters. I also feel like Kennedy changed her mind about certain things way too quickly.

Oh, and it really bugs me how his one case ended. He'd already established that the jury couldn't choose a lesser sentence, so why would risk the result he did rather than take the more obvious option? Frustrating.

I love the humor that Emma Chase brings into her books! I have to say that I didn't love this one as much as Jake and Chelsea's story, but I did still love it!!

I really liked this book. Not as much as Sustained but it was still a lot of fun.

This was a very different book. All books are different but this one still stood out. I think it had to do with how self-aware Brent was. And mature and cool. It's not something you see every day. The lack of angst was a big plus. In YA, angst is understandable, in adult novels, not so much.

This was a very cool read. At no point did I wanna pull out my own hair. The characters were bother great and I loved their history together and how it was handled.

The extended epilogue made me cringe a bit and I wasn't as into the flashbacks but overall, I really enjoyed this book and I recommend checking it.

Emma Emma, EMMA! You never cease to amaze me. Just when I think it can't get any better you bring in superhero references, flashbacks, the absolutely AMAZING extended epilogue. I love your ability to write strong female characters along with the men who compliment them. In all of your novels there is a mixture of "do I cry? Do I laugh? What do I do?!". You are just a truly incredible author. I continuously look forward to the next thing that will come out of that brilliant head of yours. Incredible. You've knocked another one out of the park! Congrats Emma!
